11,000 off or 25% is really a good deal. Why do people ask regarding Tax and title when these are different in each state. Why can't we just compare cash price and everyone can figure their own Tax and title depending where they live. The other consideration is prep fees ,with the economy where it is I have related to the dealers that I am not paying.A deal breaker. What are they going to say!

Sziggy - Looks like you got a FANTASTIC deal. That is over 12k off of MSRP. Can you tell me the name of the dealer and what city it is located in. I live in the Pittsburgh area but would be willing to travel 600 miles to get a good deal. I have been beating my self up over which M AWD I want to purchase. I have read so many posts about the M35x's engine noise due to high revs at highway speeds. How has you experience been so far? Do you find the car noisy at highway speeds?

I was also debating about purchasing a slightly used 2008 M45 X (since I do not think it has the high rev issue). There seems to be a lot of good deals out there on these but it seems to get horrible fuel economy. The M35X is bad enough. I was also considering a 2009 M35X hoping that the increase in HP may have allowed the manufacturer to change the 5th gear ratio to rev a little lower.

IMO engine and tire noise is not an issue and car is smooth. Previously owned Lexus GS 430.

I have only driven 600 miles and city is 15; hwy is 21. Combined I got 18.

So if I drive 10k mile annually and another car averages 5 mpg better than I will buy an extra 100 gallons of gas a year. This car is worth it. Sure I could have done an Avalon or ES (better mpg) but at 55 I consider myself to young for those.

Handles much the same and for a lot less $$.

Is the car perfect; no. I had to raise the xenons up, the wood trim on both front doors is coming off and will need replacing. That part is upsetting.

Overall get it you won't be sorry

My dealer that leased my last M35x has offered me 12,000 off an 08 that lists for 50,034.00
I have to think that with 4000 for loyalty and 6000 for last years model, this is still a good deal? I will be buying this time instead of leasing.
does this sound reasonable? thanks. I just hope it's not a special Pink version or something.

Thanks for your feedback. I am surprised about the wood trim. The M35 has just about be best reliability record of any car that I have seen on CR. I guess no car is 100% trouble free.

$12,000 off of MSRP. That is great. Is this the model with the NAV system? Also, can you tell me the name of the dealer and the city and state where the dealer is located.

Thx

OK, now the catch...it's his manager's car with 6000 mile on it. Desert Shadow / Graphite...Technology pkg. Splash guards Trunk mat $41,155 out the door. Now is it a good deal?

i think you can do so much better. They will probably tell you they depreciate the car by how long its out, and not by mileage. Probably something like $500 a month or something. I think you are paying too much. I got a car m35 (msrp of $50180) with only 35 miles for $41250 OTD. So i know you can definitely get a better deal. just my two cents.

Alvin,
It's soo nice seeing the helped becoming the helping.

Tennnnn,
Alvin is right. Go to a blue book website, and run the retail/wholesale/private party value calculators with the stats of the vehicle in question. I would rub it in the dealer's face that the manager probably can't afford the gas in this vehicle as it drinks gas like it's going out of fashion and the dealerships can't afford to run these vehicles! LOL. I would go so far as to ask what the manager is driving RIGHT NOW. If it's a smaller, more economical car, then you know times are getting tougher for the dealer. I know, I know...it sounds arrogant, but sometimes you just have to be - especially when you are holding the money and they are holding the "rapidly-depreciating asset".
