my 2004 armada is all over the highway if the wind blows left or right especially if i am running at 60 mph or over. there was no hurricane or tornado just a regular wind...i have to fight with the wind each time i am on freeway and it really make a lot of movement....i had my tires replace again to michelin cross terrain had it aligned 2x and had the sway bar check, there is no extra play on the wheel........can anybody give me a suggestion what to do? thank you very much...your suggestion is greatly appreciated

I'm curious. Do you have a cargo basket or luggage rack on the roof of your Armada?

How many miles? Perhaps you need new front shocks. I know that the Bilstiens that I put in (you have to put in the ones specified for the titan) have made a big difference. Then again my Armada is usually fairly stable up to about 110mph.

yes i do have a luggage rack, this problem occured 3 months ago when i made a 720 on the grass after my armada hydroplane on the freeway. before i am hitting more than 100 mph without a problem. i have new tires and i have it aligned and balanced two months ago and the problem is still there. i am now afraid to take my whole family on this vehicle because i feel it is unsafe...please advice...thanks

I think the luggage rack will contribute to greater susceptibility to crosswinds. Being situated farther above the vehicle's center of mass than the rest of the vehicle, the rack will generate more torque when buffeted by the wind. It's also possible that your 720 affected your suspension system.

In any case, I don't think it's wise to be driving an Armada at anywhere close to 100 mph.

Tidester, sounds like it's fairly obvious that the issue is related to the 720, given that he said that's when the problem started (and assuming the roof rack was always there). It's odd that whoever did the alignments did not pick up on the issue, but unfortunately there are a lot of shops that just push the jobs through....the techician is paid on the number of alignments he/she completes, and that leads to shoddy work. Also, did he tell the alignment shop(s) the specifics of the problem he is having, or did he merely ask for an alignment, assuming that would cure the issue? It's very possible the truck is correctly aligned, but something in the suspension or steering systems is bent or damaged. I would suggest that he find a body shop that specializes in frame straightening (many body shops don't have the equipment to properly do that, as the equipment is wildly expensive). Chances are his frame is not bent, but shops like that have the expertise (and the patience) to thoroughly check all the suspension and steering components to make sure everything is within spec. Unfortunately there are many components that are subseptible to damage as manufacturers (not just Nissan) are using weaker and lighter components to save on cost, as well as weight for fuel efficiency reasons.

odometer failed by uga91

At about 7000 miles on my 2008 Armada, my odometer went away. The display went blank where the odometer should be. Took it to the dealer Monday and they spent 2 days with it before deciding it was going to take a while to fix and they got me a rental car. They said they had never seen that before and had to call Nissan engineering to figure out out to fix it. Has anyone here had or heard of this?

well, it's fixed--they said a relay went out and that's what caused the display to stop

Can you tell me did it make a noise when first turned on? I had my ac compresser replaced and mine is still making a noise.
