I was not aware that when i got my wonderful suv that i had a recall the first month! until my brakes went out and i have spent up until now having changed including the rotors at least 5 times.. and in that time period i kept telling them when i go over a speed pump it grinds like a bad shock or something, my car has now 41,000 miles and im taking it back to them even after the warranty is up because i have the documentaion showing it was there and was a problem they didnt fix when it was under warranty. Is there a law suit i can be a part of reguarding my car? I heard there was one. I dont get involved in law suits but this is crazy! I love this car and wouldnt trade it for another kind but im not going to get stuck with this grinding front end or any other thing that comes up that seems to be the norm for these suvs. I need to know who to talk too!

Actually it's your dealers fault that they didn't repair it for you under warranty, Nissan issued the tsb on the brakes and it's up to your individual dealer to apply the TSB when the car is brought in for the issues effected by the TSB.

My 06 Armada is 40K mile and out of warranty. I use mobil one synthetic motor oil since new with no problem. I'm a bit hesitant to use synthetic automatic transmission oil and gear oil in the differential because nissan has stated that using any other than the matic j fluid will cause damage to the transmission. any inputs. thanks.

I run the Nissan fluid in the transmission, just cause it's expensive to replace it!

For my Front and Rear Diffy's I use Amsoil Synthetic and for the transfer case I use Amsoil Synthetic Allison ATF. So far in 50k miles, no issues.

Nissan stated that any other fluid will cause damage to the transmission? Where did they state that?

IIRC it requires Matic-J, which is only available from Nissan.... Maybe a few other car makers use it as well.

This problem does not occur with all suv's. I had a toyota 4-runner before
I purchased my 2004 armada, and never had a problem.. I feel your pain
with the brake/rotor issue. And to top if off with only 70,000 miles on
mine, the 4th gear and overdrive gave out in mine. Just to rebuild it,
it is costing 2500.00. And a new one over 5000.00. Believe me, I will
never own another, and I'll be sticking with a honda or toyota.

good luck to you

How often have you flushed your coolant? How often have you flushed your Transmission fluid? What kind of towing have you done with it?

I've towed for 40,000 of my 55,000 miles on my truck. Everything from my 6,000lb car trailer to my 11,500lb cigarette boat w/triple axles.

Trans is smooth as silk. Only issues I've had are the initial brake problem which was addressed in late 2005, and just recently my exhaust manifold started to leak.

I'm curious. Do you have a cargo basket or luggage rack on the roof of your Armada?
