Replying to: tatsea (Aug 11, 2006 7:55 am) A trivial point, but lest some newb get confused and come across as an idiot while shopping for a new Camry*, there are no automibiles with "V4" engines currently sold in North America. (I think Saab at one time had an available V4, though...) Toyota's four cylinder engines in the U.S. are of inline configuration - ie, an "I4". *Sales people love when that happens - they get all smug & smirky inside knowing they're ahead of the curve during negotiations...

I am looking for pointers to a keyless entry for an 07 Camry CE. Does Toyota make a kit? Has anyone added an aftermarket keyless entry? I am interested in details such as manufacturer, approx. price, how hard it was to install, overall satisfaction. I scanned the forum but didn't see any details. Thanks!

Two questions about our SE v-6 with the JBL upgraded stereo: 1.We just had XM installed by the dealer using the Toyota XM receiver. I was surprised to find the sound quality to be poorer than the local fm stations and cd changer. One reason we went with Toyota for the XM install is we thought the sound would be better than after market add ons which use FM modulators. But the sound is flat, almost like it is mono. 2. Another issue about the radio, is that the ASL function doesn't work. As the vehicle increases to highway speed, the radio volume stays the same with the ASL on. I tried to see if the ASL could be adjusted, like other manufacturers allow, but could only see and on/off feature. The dealer said there's nothing wrong with it, the tech told my wife "it will only increase in volume if there is a loud noise, like passing a loud truck". I didn't believe this for a second, and am wondering if I am missing something, like a way to adjust the sensitivity of the ASL, or maybe the stereo is defective. Any input on these issues would be appreciated. |
