In Australia (apparently) the only Toyota V6 Sedan will be the Avalon. Whilst the camry will only have the Camry. I guess it sort of stops overlappaing and them stealing sales from each other.

Well, have to agree with carman123, there's no way the next Camry won't have a V6 in the US. The Avalon competes in an entirely different market.

Well it is entirely possible to see the 3.5L in the IS and GS. The 4.0L (1GR) 4Runner/Tacoma V6 is in the same engine family as the 3.5L (2GR), 3.0L (3GR:IS/GS), and 2.5L (4GR) that you'll be seeing.

I doubt they'll use the 3.5L 2GR-FE in the next gen Camry. Instead, you'll probably see a Hybrid Synergy Drive V6 model similar to what will be in the RX400h/Highland Hybrid. 3.3L 3MZ-FE + HSD = 270hp and 600-700 miles to the tank. More than enough.

There is no chance whatsoever that the US will not get a V6 Camry.

Will the Hybrid wait for the next generation model?

Will Toyota give Honda the Hybrid midsize market for almost 2 years to itself?

I doubt it. I say it will show up for '06.

Keep in mind, one91, that the RX's power comes from three engines, including a rear motor for 4WD.

Camry won't get that set up. All engines will be up front.

Toyota would wait. They have the Prius after all, which is classified as a Midsize car by the EPA.

Toyota Australia is replacing the V6 with a turbocharged version of the 2.4L 4 cylinder with 241hp.

Toyota stated last year from now on they will style their vehicles to go after younger buyers. So its a wait and see deal to see how Toyota styles this next generation Camry. Toyota said when they released the current Camry they had high hopes on getting younger buyers but I don't think they have fared that well. I think Toyota has a new guy in charge of the styling department and he has said he wants to put more emotion into how Toyota styles the the next coming Corolla's and Camry's. Looks like they are off to go a good start though..I saw a car commercial tonight and I was like what is that car? It was the brand new 06 Lexus GS. It was unbelievable to me it was a Lexus.
