I'm down to these 2 cars in my quest to go sporty convertible. Any helpful thoughts on one vs. the other?

Thanks!

Unless you get the 3.0 engine on the Z4, the 350Z is noticeably faster.. I'm personally not too fond of the look of the 350Z, and with $6500 incentives on the 3.0 Z4, they are almost the same price. The Z4 seems to be a lot better built, but I will admit to a BMW bias.

4yr/50K warranty with free maintenance is another pro for the BMW.

I'd rather have a car that was built to be a convertible, than one that was designed first as a coupe.

Z4 vs 350Z by designman

The Z4 3.0 actually beat the 350Z by .1 sec 0-60 in Motor Trend's comparo. Overall they came in 3rd and 4th respectively to the Audi TT and Boxster S.

Another thing you may want to consider is resale. 350Z roadster has one of the best resale values probably due to limited production. S2000 also has good resale value and IMO is unbeatable when it comes to value.

But I think the choice should come down to pure passion in the roadster segment. The car that makes the heart throb most is the one to go with.

Let's reserve this topic for talking about pricing and the actual buying experience. If you'd like to compare the merits of these two vehicles, our Coupes & Convertibles board is the perfect place. Thanks!

Any news on incentive? by z4girl

Does anyone have any insight whether the manufacturer's rebate of $5,000 for the Z4 2.5 is going to be continued past the end of September? I am having trouble with closing the deal and it is possible that I won't get it settled before the end of the month. I selected the car and negotiated a reasonable price, but the dealership couldn't trade in the car from another dealership; I am now waiting for the word on another one... This particular dealership seems to be quite inept, on many levels.

When I talked to the dealer tonight. He told me they will be extending the discount until the end of October.

Awesome deal! Very close to cost.

Regarding the incentives, I heard that they may not be extended too. It seems that the Z4 inventory has started going down so BMWNA might force dealers to start punching them rather than continue the incentive for much longer.

bluedemon: The lease residuals and rates you quoted changed in the middle of the month. I think the new residuals are higher by about 5%. Ask your dealer to do the math again. From what I understand of your deal, the dealer is offering MSRP-Incentive. Counter with Invoice - Incentive + Profit Margin. Out here in the SF Bay Area, dealers are dealing aggressively so $1000 over cost should be easy.
