my 2006 has been jerking. hesitating whatever you want to call it ever since i had it and been in the shop a dozen times. it is not throwing a code but they think it is the torque converter. now i am told the2008's have had the same problem and it was a reprogram of the transmission but they haven't come up with the reprogram for the 2006 yet. whats up with this?? any one else have this problem? I have a 2006 Sonata with a 4 cyl. engine. When I am between 45 and 50 mph the car starts cutting out. No check engine light comes on. I have tried turning the AC on and off with no change. I have manually shifted to 4th gear because the service guy said it could be going in and out of overdrive.   The service people can't reproduce the problem and it is driving me crazy.   Has anyone else had this problem?   Thanks!   Replies to this message: backy (Jan 26, 2009 7:42 am)

Replying to: tbbriggs (Jan 26, 2009 7:25 am) If by "cutting out" you mean the engine stalls, that is a safety issue and if I were you I'd report it to the NHTSA so they can start an investigation. If several owners report a similar problem, it could encourage (or even force Hyundai) to take action. Then you might tell the service manager at the dealership that you have reported the problem to the NHTSA.

Replying to: yokey (Aug 14, 2008 6:58 am) I just took my 2k6 Sonata in for a transmission service last week. They replaced botht of the visors. I told them that the drivers side visor had been replaced a few months back because of the problem you mentioned. The told me there was a recall on the visors and replaced them both.

I'm new to this forum so I don't know if this is right place but here goes:   I've recently purchased used 2007 Sonata and have the following question about the keyless entry. When I unlock the doors I notice that there is a short flashing of parking lights, however when locking the doors with the remote there is no indication. I believe the manual says there ought be a short chirping which I am not hearing. The remote is just for keyless entry (no alarm is present).
