I'm looking at a 2007 Sonata GLS 4cyl, auto., 37k miles, sunroof, power drivers seat. The dealer has it listed on their website for $11,995, which seems like a good price. I've never owned a hyundai before, but this seems like a nice car, any big problems I should be aware of with this model? It would still have about 23k left on the warranty, which is nice.

Waxing the car can leave some blotches on the front, black grill, and on other black parts (like the black triangle behind the rear door windows) which is very difficult to get rid off, and looks ugly, as if the black color has faded.... Using a a good quality rubber or plastic eraser would do the job nicely! I tried it, it works! |

I have a 2006 Sonata GL at 40k. I have noticed two different vibration/shaking problems. 1. sometimes around 75mph, my steering wheel will start to vibrate left and right very fast. This was really bad when I got my new tires, after they rebalanced, it is not too bad. I remember the guy said that he didnt think he could get rid of vibration at that speed, but then found out the wheels were severely out of balance. Also, I do notice that it gets worse depending on my engine RPM (at the same speed), but I have trouble pinpointing. I have also gotten an alignment. Is it normal to have some vibration at speeds like 75mph? or should I go back and try to rebalanced? 2. The entire front, steering wheel, dash, etc will shake as if I am driving over some bumps. This happens if I have a hard stop (not necessarily from high speeds). At first I suspected the brakes, but I noticed that the same thing would happen if I had the cruise control on at high speed and just hit the cancel button. So it seems to be related to slowing down quickly. This problem seemed to exist before I changed my tires too. Could there be something in the engine causing this shaking and the vibration? Also, when i changed my tires from the orig ones, I ask the tire place if they had any with higher mileage. They said they had some at "T" rating. I didn't know anything about the ratings and asked the person. He told me that it doesn't matter as long as I don't drive above the rated value. Recently when i got my car checked out, the mechanic noted that I have T tires but the mfr tires should be V and that I can have "severely reduced handling" by going down more than one rating. Is this true? Is there a safety concern? I havent noticed any difference, the traction in snow seems to be alittle better but that could just be due to having newer tires. |

Hey all. Have a 2006 Sonata GLS w/ Sport Package. Tires are Michelin 225 50 R17. I'm pricing out options for replacing right now. Can different size tires be put on this car or do I have to put 225 50 R17's on there? Also, any recomendations? I'd rather not pay over $160 per tire. Thanks in advance.

It has more road noise than I'd prefer but wet & snow traction is noticably better than the Michelin Energys they replaced. Neither my wife's nor my car have TSC and my wife's car lacks ABS, so any extra traction we can get is a good thing when driving around Chicagoland winters. |

I owned 2 06 sonata's and the air from the vents smelled like an old wet musty rag. Hyundai needs to buy evaporator coils with antimold water pans in them.
