Define skipping. If you mean does the transmission seem to disengage, yours could be the same issue as mine, defective throttle body. This is now a module that electronically engages the accelerator pedal with the engine. If the sensors are not picking up the signal or doing so intermittantly then the transmission could disengage. Have your dealer check it out.

Are you talking about driving on the highway and using the cruise control? If so, do you mean the feel of the car holding back when going down hill?

at highway speeds, sometimes using the cruise control, it just feels like it's missing. It won't do it everytime.

I don't think connecting a Scan Gage would introduce any codes, no more so than the service tech. hooking up the hand held code reader. I believe it to be a passive device that uses the OBDII outputs to produce the readouts you see on the monitor head. There doesn't appear to be any feed-back generated by the Scan Gage, by that I mean it produces no information on its own but only displays existing information.

I ran across some blue Xenon head lights for my Sonata on Ebay. I'm seriously considering purchasing them, but wondered if there any issues, like connectivity, effectiveness, etc. that I should be aware of before making the purchase. Anyone have sugguestions?

I put a set in my '06 and have never had a problem other than they are so bright and I have them set prretty high that the high beam has very little effect. You'll need the entire kit including the transfomers or whatever they are called, I had mine installed by astereo shop who know what they are doing , it takes a little fooling around to set them where they are affective, but man oh man do they light up the road. my 2 cents worth.

I'm pretty much clueless about this stuff. The set that I found on Ebay quoted "plug and play" installation. Is it really a bigger deal than just pulling out the old bulbs and popping in the Xenons?
Also, I saw on recent posts you had the "rice crispy" noise fixed on your car. Mine is also a 2006 and has what I believe is the same issue. I looked for a TSB on it, but the ones I found are not easy to read. Do you know if there is a TSB on this issue?

So THAT's what it is, eh? My '06 did it one wet morning a couple of weeks back. It took three or four "reboots" to get it moving, and the idiot light was on for an hour or so afterwards. Thanks for the heads-up Cajun.

My Sonata has about 10k miles. Last week I have been noticing a high pitched squeel, it is not coming from the front, it sounds like it is coming from the back. When I hit the brakes the squeel stops. I have no idea what it could be. Can someone help?
