Replying to: punita (Oct 03, 2006 12:51 pm) I have found out in the last 2 days that Toyota has had the same problem with Corolla's and they will install a mesh covering under the condenser to protect it from road debris. I'm not super crazy about spending $800 for a repair that might happen over again and having Scion say tough luck. But what I wonder is how many of us are out there. If this happens in 3% of the cars they will do a fix.

| New 07 TC owner here. Love the car so far but found one nuiance. I find that even with the A/C or Heat is off when I'm on the hwy a tremendous amount of air comes out of the vents. Is there a way to stop this? | |

I posted on Murano in reply to several instances of this happening to our models..basically, debris from cars in front of you...pebble, nail... hits the thin A/C grille which by necessity is exposed to frontal airflow. ANY auto can have this, just as that same missle could break your windshield. I purchased a segment of aluminum grille/grid used for keeping leaves out of gutters, cut it to slip into the grille opening, and it sits, without any screws or support in front of the A/C. Simple, effective and prevents the 1:1000 hit that can occur, without blocking air flow. John B from Murano Problems and Fixes c |
