However, I also have an Audi A4 and I have heard of anoher person also having that happen to their A4 via another messge forum. It is an odd occurence, but not unheard of for it to happen.   Another 'big ticket' item that can fall prey to this is expensive headlights on some vehicles. Apparently they get shattered by flying debris often enough for there to be after-market protection 'film' to be a big seller.   JR

Replying to: punita (Oct 03, 2006 12:51 pm) it's a road hazard, not a defect I don't think. You may want to think about some kind of grille guard material. Your insurance should cover this.

I have a 2006 with 13,000 miles. I sit in stop/go traffic morning and afternoon. The brakes get hot and they squeal when I start putting them on and when full pressure is applied it stops. Dealer says everything is fine. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Appreciate any suggestions or comments.

We bought my daughter a TC in May '06 and the condenser developed a small hole from a pebble. She took to a dealer and they repaired on a "goodwill" repair. Now we have the same problem again, so even after you get it fixed, it can happen again. I have called Scion headquarters and they denied the second fix and told me that they would not take my calls anymore.   I have found out in the last 2 days that Toyota has had the same problem with Corolla's and they will install a mesh covering under the condenser to protect it from road debris. I'm not super crazy about spending $800 for a repair that might happen over again and having Scion say tough luck.   But what I wonder is how many of us are out there. New 07 TC owner here. Love the car so far but found one nuiance. I find that even with the A/C or Heat is off when I'm on the hwy a tremendous amount of air comes out of the vents. Is there a way to stop this?

I posted on Murano in reply to several instances of this happening to our models..basically, debris from cars in front of you...pebble, nail... hits the thin A/C grille which by necessity is exposed to frontal airflow. ANY auto can have this, just as that same missle could break your windshield. I purchased a segment of aluminum grille/grid used for keeping leaves out of gutters, cut it to slip into the grille opening, and it sits, without any screws or support in front of the A/C. Simple, effective and prevents the 1:1000 hit that can occur, without blocking air flow. John B from Murano Problems and Fixes   c
