Hi all,   I just recently bought a 2006 Scion tC. The car has been driven for about a month and it has been making clunking noise. I brought the car in. I test drove it with them and they concluded that the noise was made by the defective steering shaft. They ordered the part and will be in by next week.   So my concern is that if anyone has experienced this before?? It's a brand new car and only has 1k miles on it. Any other noise should I be aware of??? It also makes some noise that the dealer said is from the brakes and they said is normal. Am I crazy or am I missing how to turn off that light that's in the center console. You know, the one in that little center compartment. It's always on and it drives me nuts! Any help?

Replying to: kylem (Mar 23, 2006 12:06 pm) let me help you out here.. the 05 Scion tC has a service bulletin for a new steering rack and new power steering pump. This could be why you're experiencing the heavy steering. You might want to go to your Toyota or Scion dealer (both have this) and get a copy of the technical service bulletin for the steering. If you're also hearing clicking when steering, then yes definitely it has a problem. Hope that helps..
