Unless you've put 50,000 miles on the car with all of them being while driving directly behind a gravel truck, there's no way you should have anything close to that number of chips. My 06 SS is 14 months old and I have 3 or 4 small ones, which I consider normal. The best thing to do would be to call Chevy customer service. It's amazing how things change when the service department gets a boot in the ass from corporate.

Off topic: There are a lot of us out there that remember Nickey (backwards K) high performance chevrolets. Also at the time I am sure you remember the Yenkos/Baldwin Motion/Berger/Fred Gibb/Dana chevrolet dealerships that put together high performance chevys in the late 60s early 70s. and up in Ontario Canada we had the Black Panther 427 Camaros sold and raced through Gorries Chevrolet and Golden Mile Chevrolet in Toronto. My two rides. red/red loaded 64 Impala SS 327, & 1963 Impala SS black/black 409.

Great memories! great times! those 60s!!

I've got a dealer sticker from Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet in Newton, N.C. I had one on my truck to cover up a minor dent and scratch on the tailgate. Since his passing, these stickers have become somewhat rare and hard to find. If you can find one the price is very expensive. Not sure if I want to put it on my Impala or hold on to it for posterity.

#2725 of 3634 How long did it take ? by topcop1

How long were you without your Impala while it was in the shop for warranty repairs, FOB, Dash, Etc? While it was in, did you get a loaner car? Mine is coming due an oil change, and I may have the dealer do the warranty work then. I don't want to be without the car for too long. And, I don't want to end up driving some "hooptie" for a loaner. My dealer uses Enterprise Rent a Wreck.

Top,
I got a rental when they replaced a squeaky seat rail on mine. That service manager has been replaced since then, probably for being too nice to customers, but he set me up with a "hooptie" Aveo. Don't knock it...it sure makes you appreciate what you have all that much more. I was concerned about surviving the experience, though. The Aveo doesn't instill confidence on the interstate.

My dealer doesn't give me a replacement. I mentioned it once when they said they weren't sure they could get everything done in one day and the service guy chuckled. You'd think they'd be nicer to their top salesman's mom. At least I get shuttle service to and from work.

Hey charts2
Wow......Big, big memories..!!!!!
Yep, sure do...Gorries and Golden Mile were just up the street from me ,. As a matter of fact Golden Mile Chev is still there. I had one of the very few '69 chevelle 427 cid (425hp) big blocks from Belmont Chev Olds. I'm still a chevy guy and just love my '06 Impala

Hey topcop1

For your info, just the remote fix (2 fobs, receiver, antenna cable and all reprogramming )should take no more than 1 1/2 hours once it's in the shop. And ,provided they have done it before..

#2730 of 3634 quick question by wesleyg

I have one very minor annoyance with my SS and am wondering if anyone has an issue. When I use the drivers seat heater, it takes about 4 minutes before I feel the heat beginning, and about another 5 minutes before its really warm. (this is on the high setting.) My previous car, '02 Z-28 and wifes car, '06 Equinox, start to heat right away.

Since I live in a cold area, northern Ohio, I use the heater about everyday. Perhaps a computer adjustment at the dealer? You all got me thinking constantly about the 427's, 409's etc. Stop please.
