is AWD worse than a slushbox?
Well, you are looking at serious money if either the slushbox or transfer case goes south(as the TC did on my son's X3)- but the other problem is that the AWD cars don't get the sport suspension AND they ride a bit higher than the RWD cars. So you are looking at some additional money to install a Bilstein, Dinan or other suspension upgrade.

nothing comes to mind other than those off-brand luxo cars I mentioned before.

The first one - I can't do such a loud cabriolet top, and the 3.8 scares me. The latter is quite a preservation piece anyway.

Yup, first one without any doubt. Car is ugly enough without the cabrio and there is no way I'd get it WITHOUT the 4.6. I mean, that would be the ONLY reason I would get such a car.

One of the first two. The first one is at a dealer lot, if the 2nd one was being sold directly by the original owner, so that I could talk to him and possibly get service records, then I would go for the 2nd one.

Beautiful automobile there though I still prefer the S40 size vehicle. Almost snagged a 2008 S40 back in the summer of 2009 but my mechanic, and wife, both talked me out of it...looking back, probably should of thrown caution to the wind and just done it as I still love that generation S40. My one neighbor has had a Volvo since the mid '80's and she loves them...had a S80 and now a S60 wagon in white, stunning vehicle. It's funny, whenever I see a pic of a really nice vehicle like that red S60, I get the itch and even picked up a couple of those used car rags at the supermarket the other day just to see what's out there. This one place has only lease turn backs and always has some interesting vehicles for not to bad prices...am tempted to just go take a ride one day and test drive a few...could be fun. That itch resurfaces every so often especially when I see a particularly nice vehicle and now that I do get to drive so many different makes and models, I could be persuaded to trade if all the variables line up!
Really need to get the wife squared away first and got a feeling if something else major crops up, she might just be ready sooner than the end of the year! This latest noise is getting to her now!

First one I think. Has a clean CARFAX for what that's worth.
