Plus, they didn't get to do the whole SkyActiv treatment on the current 3. The next one should add headers, lighter weight materials, and maybe start/stop (speculation on my part).

But ... I bet it costs a bunch more than $18k for an i Touring.

Yeah, dang... sorry about that breld, but always good when the driver (occupants) can walk away (relatively) unscathed!

Speaking of pickups running lights, I saw that happen in Morgantown, WV, while I was there last spring. I was walking in the downtown area when a pickup blatantly ran a red light, a spendy sedan (a BMW, if I recall correctly) was going through the intersection on the green, and the truck slammed on the brakes, tires squealing, and missed that car by inches. It was an impressive reaction time (given that there was about zero sight distance on the intersecting street), but would have been more impressive if the driver had seen the red light and stopped before the intersection.

Well, it could be wishful thinking, but I think Mazda would have to hold the line to remain competitive.

But yes, the 3 getting the complete SkyActiv treatment has to net some gains in efficiency - to a car that's already pretty darn good in that category.

Yeah, Autoweek had a neat article on the 40mpg club, and the only 2 that really lived up to the 40mpg promise were the 3 SkyActive and the Golf TDI.

That's really terrible what happened to your wife. I'm glad she's OK.

Yeah, hope the "day after" didn't bring on any aches or pains.

Trying to remember, this was a short lease on a G37, right? awd or rwd? Do you like it?

I've been away from here for awhile, so nice to see that 2013 is progressing smoothly on punches. Even Mathias! I had a punch in 2012 for the Miata, and will have one this year for sure, maybe two. I'd guess 34 total for this year, but it all hinges on what breld and anony do...they have become the all star players in this league and will single-handedly affect the season greatly . Jolie will always be a hall of famer, though.

Details on the Miata punch, please .. date, model year, new/used (miles if used) .. I'll add it to the 2012 punch list.

Have added your guess of 34 for 2013 punches; will repost the entire list once I get the above information.

OK - 2/12/12, 07 Miata PRHT, used 14k miles.

Its been mid 60's and sun here in the bay area; who says a Miata isn't a winter car?
