It really bugs me when they say "call for price." To me that just means they are asking WAAAAAAY TOO much!

They have the price listed on Autotrader; I believe it is $15,000. EA is always high, but they get hard to find low mileage cars. A friend was helping a guy find a low mileage E39 M5. One popped up on Autotrader in PA and my friend called less than six hours after it was first posted. EA had already bought it...

I have learned that you do GET what you pay for, but just don't want to get ripped off either. Better to buy that car for $15,000 than on for $7500 that needs $3K - $4K worth of work to get it back to reliable DD status!

Exactly; EA's prices on E36 M3s are above average, but if you read the ad you will usually find that they are 1 or 2 owner cars and that EA has replaced the major failure-prone parts of the suspension and cooling system. You can pay 50% of EA's price but in most cases you will get a car with over 140K on the clock, and little to no service history. Ya' pays yer money...

In certain cases you are probably better off just paying the premium for a car that has ultra low miles and been gone over. IMHO its a pay me now or pay me later sort of thing.

it is the 2.4l LPT in that car. I never assume the owner has a clue about those details. And Fintail, the nav is factory old school.
price does seem cheap, but the ad bothers me for some reason. Though does claim to be original owner. I wonder if the issue is they learned that the tranny or AWD system are on the way out, and are looking to bail? Still, for a 1 owner loaded model with 83K on it, $3,100 is cheap.
I feel bad though, since the poor owner works 7 days a week, and has to take time of to show it!

4 lost or damaged wheel covers means that thing has taken its share of potholes.

around here, everything takes it share of potholes. Roads are horrid. One reason I stay away from low profile tires, and actually tried to avoid a SP car when I was looking at BMWs.
#28556 of 35400 Well, that plan did not last long
Dec 10, 2012 (9:59 am)
today was day 1 of the actual plan (to recap, my daughter got her license last Friday on her 2nd try, and can now drive solo). Over the weekend, she was able to go out a few places on her own, and it was nice that I did not have to drive over to her boyfriend's house at 11:00 to pick her up. But, no real impact since the Volvo was around and I was mostly out with my wife in her car.
today though, I am "stranded" at home, since the kid took the Volvo to school and the wife went into the office. I feel so naked without a car here (not that I really have anyplace to go, but still, what if I wanted to?). And they both realized me not having a car can be a drag.
my wife especially is seeing this be an inconvenience to her (and we all know, that is not likely to end well ). So she was commenting today that I really need to get another car for me or the kid, something cheap so we can asign her to that for insurance purposes.
So I guess I hae my marching orders! I think we can probably make it through the end of the year though, but after that it could be an issue. I really wish I had off street parking for another car that did not block the garage. That is a real hassle.

"...I have my marching orders..."
What a shame that your wife is making you buy another car. How could she be so mean?
