When my brother was in college[mid 60's], he had an old Studebaker to drive from Greensburg to Phillipe W.V. The beast used a quart of oil every 50 miles so he kept the trunk full of gallon jugs of who knows what. He took a bunch of leftover paint spray cans and house paint and turned it into a rainbow mobile which made our Dad furious. Mission accomplished.

The Sierra had a pass side low beam go out so I figured why not replace both low beams with some new silver stars. Yeah, 3 hours later, one trip to the dealer for a broken bolt that cost $10, a scraped up finger, some not nice words to the truck, and I was seriously questioning my decision.
The pass side wasn't too horrible, a little tough due to a short harness. The driver's side.....I'd like to smack whoever decided on that design. We had to take out the battery, the battery plate, unbolt the windshield washer bottle, and it was still all I could do to get my small hands in there to pull the old bulb out and replace it.
While putting everything back together had a special bolt on the neg battery cable break, of course it's not available aftermarket. Got lucky that one GM parts dept was open and had one in stock.
High beams or DRLs better not even THINK about going out!!!
Now to install a block heater in the Yaris, which I'm sure will be much easier.

Yeah, I remember the DRL's in my Suburban being a pain to change, particularly on the battery side. Plus they seemed to burn out every 3 mos. I think on the Suburban, I could turn a latch which allowed the whole light assembly to be removed, then I could reach the DRL bulb.
I guess you should have changed all of the bulbs while you were in there;)

I thought about it but hubby convinced me not to. The high beams look like they might be doable without dismantling 1/2 the truck. I haven't seen where the DRL bulbs are yet.
I can say that installing the block heater on the Yaris was faster and easier than replacing headlight bulbs on the Sierra.

The relationship between a teen girl and her car is quite a bit different than a teen boy's. I had only sons and they barely care what kind of car they drive. They treat them as tools to get them places. I never heard of a boy naming a car.
That's the truth! My son was perfectly happy with the 95 Escort, he took care of it, didn't trash it, and in return it got him around reliably. He could care less that it was a $1000 car. My daughter wouldn't hear of driving that car. So, we bought her the light blue '11 Toyota Yaris which she has named Smurfette.

I laughed pretty loudly at those wheels. Nice stereo too. Is that Volvo nav unit stock?

I think you need to go and look at the Volvo wagon. It won't last long at that price if it is as described.
Love the old school pop-up NAV. Nice conversation piece, 11 year old maps in our area won't get you far. My 2012 can't find places that have been there for 3 years!

I won't even consider a car that a wanna-be pimp or drug dealer has owned, so those wheels take it out of contention. I also take a pass if an owner advertises that his BMW has a V6.
This car looks nice: 1982 320i.
I was just never a fan of any E21s other than the European 323i.
One of my favorite BMWs was my 1987 535is, so I love this one; too nice for a DD, methinks: 1988 535i

That "Vovlo" Cross Country wagon with the "V6" engine is cheap if it's truly in good condition. I'm assuming it's really a 2.4/2.5 liter turbo five cylinder. Considering its age, it probably needs a timing belt kit.
