SAAB story by stickguy

I like these. I actaully stopped to check them out not too long ago (that and a 9-2x). Only had a new one (and a couple of used 9-5 wagons).

Would probably have to be certified though, but who knows if saab will even be in business 3 years from now?

I need to wait a few months to figure out what my job/commute situation is. Not sure I would be comfortable putting 25K+ a year on a SAAB. you go from low mile to high mile real quick.

Not a bad deal though if they have a nice option load.

These two aren't certified.... but, they have 23K and 36K miles respectively, and over a year of the 4yr/50K warranty left..

Most of the certified ones are closer to $20K+

I'm not sure I would risk a high-mileage commute on one of them, either.... but, I thought they were an interesting value proposition at that price...

Wow, its been a while since I've been here. Busy wouldn't even begin to describe my life now! Its a rare day I can sit down at the computer and do something like visit Edmunds, lol.

I'm still driving the Pilot, quickly approaching the end of the B2B warranty. Next week it goes in for a not too cheap service. Its been a really good car, but in the next few months I think I'll be saying goodbye to it. Since we sold our dually we have nothing to tow the TT with, so rather than own 3 vehicles I'm going to let the Pilot go in favor of an older Suburban. I'm not thrilled about it, but want to be able to use the TT, seems silly to pay for something we can't use. Course if the right older truck comes along I might grab that and end up with 3 vehicles after all!!

Hubby is still thrilled with his Civic, its closing in on the 10k miles mark. No, we haven't fixed the bumper, he has a roll of blue duct tape if pieces start coming off, lol. Just don't see the point in fixing it before summer. So far other than the coyote incident its been a really good little car.

Its been really nice this winter to have a garage for both vehicles, I don't complain one bit about getting into a warm car to go somewhere, lol. That's about it from the frozen north, I'll be glad when summer gets here!

A reporter from a large national newspaper would like to speak to consumers who are holding onto their cars versus selling them or buying a new one because of economic uncertainties. Please respond to ctalatiedmunds.com with your daytime contact information no later than Friday, January 30, 2009.

I found a buyer for our TSX and would like to get into something pretty cheap, 2-3 year lease. I've looked at the Civic, which is an option for about $239/month with just first down but wanted to see what else others might suggest, Impreza, ?? Thanks!

Just an opinion: I drove a new 9-5 a few years ago before I bought my slightly used e39. The 9-5 was "OK". It seemed more like a GM car, than the 9000, which was highly regarded. (I still remember when saabs were very desirable, almost as much as bmw's, but this is going back to the late '80's).

I always liked the looks of the 9-5 wagon tho.......

Yeah... checked the ads today.. one of those two is already gone..

As far as the cheap lease for dad23? I think Legacy SE models have a pretty cheap lease.. under $250/mo... Also, the Impreza, with the sedan about $30/mo less than the hatch...

If you can live with a base model, then the Rabbit and Jetta S models are also pretty cheap..

Cheap Lease by michaell

I would second ky's suggestion on the Impreza. Probably could get into one for right around $200/mo and the AWD would work well here in Colorado.

If I absolutely, positively had to get a car tomorrow, I'd lean towards an Impreza lease and cash out the equity I have in the L300.

That is what I did last summer... Traded in my paid off '02 CR-V with 106K for $9K, and got a 24mo/30K lease on an Impreza for 23 payments of $244/mo., including all fees and taxes....

I wish I had the hatch, though... but, not for another $25/mo..
