Hi! Guys, I recently wanna to buy a 93 Arc and saw the GM employee discount price: $25,753.00 (original MSRP $30,970). It seems to be a good deal, or we still have more room to get the best deal. |
|
| good question - is this new pricing worth it? | |

I have a brother-in-law who works for GM so I don,t need to get a car before July 5. Anyone know if they will have rebates on the 9-3 after this Emmp. pricing for everyone promotion?

Replying to: vexatious (Apr 30, 2005 4:11 am) Can you share the dealership name and location? I'm looking at a 2005 9-3 Linear at the GM Employee prices-- a bargain indeed-- but you did 10% better than Employee pricing on your Arc. I tried the argument about depreciation and he looked at me as if I was nuts-- "you won't get this car at a better price". I'm going to shop around some more, but if your dealership is within a few hundred miles I wouldn't mind taking a mini-roadtrip in my new car. Thanks. |

| With the GM pricing getting you a '95 Arc for about 27K (reasonably equipped), what would a 2004 still unsold go for??? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. | |
| I've talked to a few folks who have said the current employee discount is not as good as the pricing you can get if you negotiate regardless of the discount. It appears you might as well buy GM cars like you normally would. | |

RE: employee discount, on the SAAB/GM site it gave a price of $22,681 for a base 9-3 linear. Add metallic paint and an auto tranny, and I get about $24,500. Anybody negotiate a 9-3 linear lately and get a price like this, or better?

Replying to: bons (Jun 15, 2005 6:07 pm) I am driving a Sebring convertible with about 80k miles on it, so I always need to be in the market for a new car. Am considering replacing it with the Saab convertible. Are Saabs any good these days? I haven't paid any attention since GM bought them, since I figured they'd ruin the product. My Sebring is OK, but if the Saab was a good product, maybe now is a good time to pull the trigger on a new one.

Replying to: adp3 (Jun 16, 2005 8:53 am) I think the one car that makes Saab famous is its convertible, much adorned by educated women. The new 93 convertible is more masculine than its predecessors and I think it's a beauty. I just spotted the new Volvo C50 convertible here on edmund.com and it looks awesome (hard-top four seater convertible, wow that is a world's first) http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=105967 GM hasn't done much with Saab engine, only beginning to borrow Saab's turbo technology. Volvo is becoming a very successful/distinguished brand and sales are increasing. I think GM can lend hands in the marketing department and leave the engineering & designing to Saab, and hopefully Saab can make the same run that Volvo has. |
