supplier price? equinox '10 LT1 .. good price? by markm75

I've been struggling here in western pa to find the right match of specs that i wanted in the equinox..

IE: to get bluetooth and the rear view camera, you have to go LT1.. sometimes i'd find an 1LT with bluetooth but no camera etc..(cant add camera later, unless go with a dashboard type) Finding red with this combo has been hard too (no time to order, trying to wrap up purchase in the next week or so)..

The best price i have been able to get has been 25,298 after a $900 credit union discount and the $500 60 day deal (off msrp of 26,670).. actually, originally i think i had this quote on an msrp of 26,320 or so.. so maybe this isnt so bad..

My current price on a vehicle i can find, which has msrp of 26,950 or so (has cargo package).. is 25,555..

Does anyone know if this is a good price and exactly what is the supplier discount.. does this vary from dealer to dealer? so is mine $400+500 (supplier discount + 500?) + 500..

Anyone know of any other tricks to get them to lower the price a bit more?

Thanks for any help

You might be better off looking for a "standard" 2LT. It has all the features you are looking for, and will likely be easier to find in the red color than a 1LT with specifically the features you want.

The supplier discount varies based on the trim level and any optional features. We got a 1LT with vehicle interface pkg, backup camera, moonroof, and power seat and it took almost $1000 off (MSRP was just over $26k). Then we got Conquest (dealer honored it even though our trade was older than 1999, and technically you can't do Conquest with supplier through GM itself), C4C, and they took off about another $700 (though their Doc fee was high, almost $350 and that is non negotiable at that dealer). It was a more expensive vehicle in terms of options than we wanted, but with all the discounts it turned out alright. We were lucky the dealer worked with us considering the lack of availability of these, especially at that time.

Anyway, the take home point is to be the least picky you can be regarding your vehicle choice, thus the suggestion to get a 2LT. Also you can email several dealers and see what they can do regarding dealer trades for said vehicle. The more competition you can create the better. And the more you can do via internet/fax the better (in most cases).

I ended up getting a Red 4cy 2LT as I was looking for the exact same options as you. Found a dealer who had one that was to be on site 3 weeks later, but also had a sunroof and leather. The dealer claimed to be able to get the leather switched to cloth. Yet, in the end it didn't happen, so we were given the leather for free. I am very thankful we went ahead with the 2LT. It's a more expensive model (for eventual resale purposes) and all of the extras I wanted came from factory, which I think is also a big deal. Having the leather for a little over a month now I've grown to love it and find the heated seats wonderful!!

With the supplier discount there really isn't a huge difference in cost between the two models (when keeping in mind the total amount you're spending). Yet there are some significant differences between the 1LT and the 2LT vehicles themselves. You can go to www.gmsupplierdiscount.com and build your vehicle. Then you will know your exact supplier rate and can compare the 1LT to the 2LT.

You mention a "credit union discount". If this isn't the GM credit card and you're getting a discount through a credit union, that will replace the supplier discount. Essentially, they are the same amout, but you can only use the conquest cash in combo. with the credit union discount. (Technically we used the credit union discount on our buy.. but it's all in the same, just has a different name). So, if you're already getting a discount from a credit union, you won't qualify for the supplier discount. Also, if you have the credit union discount, your C.U. should email or fax you the paperwork that shows their pricing for the vehicle. It will look the same as what you would see on the supplier discount website, and should (was for us) be the same amount.

So in the end our sticker price $28,530. Our "Credit Union Discount" took us down to 27,470. $1,000.00 for conquest (husband has a ford ranger truck) and then $500.00 for signing off on the 2 month return deal (as much as I put up with to get this car, I'm not going to return it), it took us down to $25,970. Then, since my dealer couldn't produce the cloth and I ended up with leather, they gave me the leather for free, deducting an extra $932 (or around there, which is the cost of the leather at supplier discount). That left me with a final bill of $25,038.

In Missouri you pay TTL separately at the DMV instead of through your dealer. So I am waiting on the paperwork to arrive in the mail to do that. Those costs are estimated at $1300.00. So, including everything the car will cost us $26,338.00 (approx). Coming in almost $2200 under the sticker, I'm very happy with the deal and my car.

Best of luck finding your Nox. In the end, don't buy what you won't be truly happy with, and remember that almost everyone is going through an ordeal to get their NOX right now. But trust me, it's truly worth the hassle and wait!!

Thanks for the replies on the supplier price thing..

I basically went to lovemycreditunion.org and saw that it says for the nox.. supplier pricing PLUS 500 (other cars like say the impala say supplier pricing plus $2600)..

Am i to assume this means, whatever the supplier price is, i can then subtract another 500 from that? (and then ontop of that i can subtract another 500 for the 60 day return rebate)?

Ill take a look at the supplier price for the 2lt and see how much more it is.. also.. my dealer said that for the msrp 26,350, the supplier price is 25,379, whereas this gm site shows 25,509, confused on that too...

Hm.. those sound like some great questions for your dealer. I haven't heard of a plus $$ situation. Yet, thats great if thats the case! As far as the conflicting supplier discount prices, it will end up being whatever the official paperwork says. I guess you can get that paperwork through the www.gmsupplierdiscount.com website, when using your supplier number. Yet, they can also pull that up at the dealer if you give them the number. Otherwise, what you see on the supplier page without the supplier number is what it *should* be. Just don't put your supplier number into any computer system until you're ready to buy.. it's only good for 30 days and you cannot cancel the transaction.

Thanks..

I got the PLUS $500 from here:
http://www.lovemycreditunion.org/GM_171.html

Halfway down it says equinox: supplier price PLUS $500.. i dont know if this 500 is refererring to just the 60 day rebate or not.

Either way, i checked out the 2LT price.. its 27,074 supplier price.. when taking off the 500 (for 60 day) ontop, it comes out to being about $1000-$1200 more than the LT1, if i could find the lt1 with bluetooth and camera.

The 2LT also comes with fog lights, the pioneer sound system and more interior ambient lighting. There might be other things as well, and I'm forgetting them. For me, those additional items were well worth the additional cost. Yet, lots of people have the 1LT and love them as well. I hope you are able to find what you're looking for... and that the extra $500.00 works out for you!

I just ordered an LT2 with the leather seat package (JET BLACK/LIGHT TITANIUM, PERFORATED LEATHER (AFM). Can someone tell me if those seats are heated? The dealer tells me Yes, I've chatted with 2 people at Chevrolet.com, one who says Yes, and one who says no, I have to go LTZ to get the heated seats.

rear view camera possible to purchase from parts for 1lt? by markm75

Does anyone know if the wiring is already in the 2010 lt1, if it doesnt come with the camera system (mirror)..

IE: if i could find the parts for the mirror and camera, it would simply need wired into the vehicle (hopefully with existing wiring) and replace the standard mirror?

Thanks
