I ordered a 300 base with power pedals in the new color, silver steel (hope it ends up being dark gray) about 2 1/2 weeks ago. They are starting some story about one of the two interiors not offered on the 2006 even though it still shows onthe Chrysler site. Trying to buy this car was a very frustrating experience. I have been buying my cars on the phone or internet for a good many years but this was new. The Chrysler people are using the Honda/Toyota line from the 70's saying they are hard to get. There are PLENTY of these cars in stock but very few base models. I saw production schedules from Jan 24 and the base models were last on the new 2006 models schedule but I am in no hurry. I almost bought a Inifinity M35 but just didnt want to spend the extra money for my car. I finally found a country dealer that sold me the car at a reasonable price with a low "doc" fee. I think the car could come any day but that would be a stroke of luck. I think it will arrive the end of July. I hope the pull problem does not surface in my car. If it does - Chrysler will soon have the car back. Long time since I ordered a car - hope it works out.

The car is supposedly ready to assembled, but is now showing up on the "restriction sheet" with the date for assembly indicated as "TBD". My dealer cannot find out what this means, nor the reason for the delay. The Chrysler customer service rep to whom I spoke told me that she has received numerous calls on this issue and told me that apparently all of the 2006 AWD's are "TBD" and they have been given no indication as to why. She was as frustrated as I am. My conclusion is that they have discovered a problem with AWD. Anyone know the real reason?" Your comment may very well be the reason. I would also appreciate hearing from others exprexperiencing same problem. I do not understand why chrysler will not share the reason with their own dealers nor customer service department.

FYI I ordered my Silver Steel Metallic Limited on May 31st. Just called the factory for status and learned it is in D1 status with a July 21st estimated shipping date. So, it looks like it is running at about 8 weeks right now. Steve |

Replying to: phillyfan (Jun 26, 2005 5:47 pm) I just picked up my 2006 300c AWD Cool Vanilla, sunroof, Nav/w upgraded Boston, Walnut trim, Protection Group 2, U-Connect, Sirius, High Intensity Lights, from a dealer in Fairfax Virginia for $37,900.They were awesome to deal with. Had one on order from Newberg, Oregon since 01/02/05. Got frustrated from the dealer with no answers. In mid June I found one across the country and bought it over the internet. AWESOME CAR.......... |

I ordered my 300C silver steel metallic in April. 7 weeks later I had the car delivered to my dealer. Great car, too much fun to drive. I sold my 2003 Anniversary Corvette to purchase the 300C. No regrets |
