Bought Mine Yesterday by geekay

I bought mine from Tyson,s Corner, VA yesterday. No options, 0 down, 4.8 %, 279 p.m. 60 months. Only sore point, took 4 hours to install the wheel covers and stereo. No haggling but i should have tried to bring down the dealer processing fees etc. Good thing was that I got to test drive an Xa and an Xb in yesterday's s tormy weather. Both came out on top (both 5 spd MT). The Xb won because of space and more unconventional looks. We have a Vibe AWD which replaced my wife's 92 Corolla in 2004. I know my next car will be an Xa and I am 49 years of age. Possibly the series 1.0, can any one share their experience of these limited series?

Congrats on the Xb purchase. It's a great car for the DC commute. 4 hrs. for wheel covers and a stereo? That's just poor delivery. Tysons Toyota/Scion is a huge dealership.. 4 hr delivery time is unacceptable. I won't shop there again after the poor sales help I received there last Sept. Tysons Salesman wore dirty sneakers, dirty pants and jacket, and had 1 crumpled business card in his front pants pocket that he flicked to me. He couldn't drive a stick and stalled it twice out on Rt. 7. He didn't know any details of the car and said he was too busy to learn about every car on the lot. The 2 finance people at Leesburg Scion came from Tysons. They said that they were very glad to get away from that dealership because the whole thing is too big and out of control. I'm glad that you did ok there. My wife seems to have taken a liking to the Xb. We're both in our 40's. She's now finding excuses to run errands alot more now that she can take the Box. I see another Scion in our future if initial quality for the Xb holds out.

JD Powers will be sending you something in about a month. I sent mind out last week.

The fog lights is the best accessory, but that strut bar is getting more fun as time goes on.

Geekay:

If you did not get any options, why did they change the radio? Didn't you even get the floor mats? I like your rate though. I got 5.25%.

I did drive a xA 1.0, and I really liked it. It was a sharp car. However, thexB was my choice because of all the addtional room. The xB and the xA 1.0 are about the same price. I really enjoyed the moonroof. The xA 2.0 will be out soon in blue.

I don't believe I have done this;

Blue Onyx Pearl - Manual

Accessories

Fog Lights
Strut Bar
Door Sill Enhancements
Rear Bumper Applique
Cargo Mat
Floor Mats

Also bought Titanium Shifter, but have not used. Prefer OEM.

Paid 15,933. Put 500 down. Financed 15,433. 5.25%. 60 months. $293.?? a month. Figured out $464 a month will pay it off in three years which I intend to do.

Also own 95 Corolla DX and 02 Tundra SR5 V8 thats pulls my camper.

Dear Tundradude, All scions in that lot were with just a paper cover on the radio cavity and no wheel covers. I was so fed up of waiting there that i decided not to buy anything from them except the car as the weather was very bad on Saturday and there were very few 5 speeds in our area that day. The next one was at Laurel and I had already had one credit check run that morning, in addition to one that my dealer in Southern MD ran a couple of days earlier but failed to get me one. I picked up a good set of mats at Target on Sunday for 23.99 (grey/black with carpeted heel area). I do intend to get fog lights at ebay as also a cold or short ram intake. Thanks

Yeah...the cardboard radio was a real turnoff when I shopped at Younger in Hagerstown. All the Xb's on their lot had it in place of a real stereo. 5 speeds seem to be on the rare side in the DC area. I know that Darcars Scion in Frederick had 2 on their lot last week. I'm pretty happy so far with the Xb. My wife who is usually nonchalant about my vehicle buys, made it a point to drive the Xb on every errand last weekend while I tore the dining room apart.

I have a set of 17 inch performance wheels that my son uses some times on his Honda CRX.. They will do just fine. The car is doing great, more so on our country roads. Only problem, he/she who gets out of the house first in the morning takes it. I think my kids will finally start rising early. One more thing, I talked to my local scion dealer and he says he and some other dealers are attending some kind of orientation training on 18th of this month, it will be Scion products in general and the limited series XA coming out later this year.

Good way to get your kids up, but then you'll never get to use it.. My 16 yr old wants to drive it all the time, but my 18 yr old only wants to drive our old blazer. I'm amazed how smooth the XB handles on our country roads. It hugs the curves and cruises over the bumps and ruts just fine. I think it's a good thing with the Scion orientation. They might update the sales teams on new options for the XB. What color did you get?

Mine is also Thunder Cloud, there was a yellow special edition on the lot at Tyson's but I did not want it. Are you planning to take it back to the dealer at 5,000 miles for the free oil change? I am getting about 28-29 mpg but I think it will improve.

Yes, I will take it back to the dealer for oil changes. You get 3 free oil changes with new Scion purchases. I'll get the oil changed at about 3000 miles on the 1st change, then 4500-5000 on the subsequent ones. I just finished my 2nd tank and I avg. 33.4 mpg, of course that was at 60mph and under. You should get better mileage after a few thousand miles. I also looked at the yellow special edition but I like the Thundercloud better. I think a special edition black with the CAI, TRD exhaust, chrome rims, and a spoiler would look good.
