I want my radio to start in Aux mode........ by ttouchton
May 06, 2006 (9:27 pm)
I just received a 2006 Chrysler 300. It has the base radio (REF) and it does not have the seat memory feature. I've added a XM radio to the car and use the AUX connector on the factory radio for my connection. I would like for the radio to be in AUX mode each time I start the car. Currently, whenever I start the car, the radio defaults to FM tuned to preset 1. Is there any way to make the radio default to AUX mode?

Update...

Well I got the trusty 300 back from the shop on Saturday. They put in a new cylinder, valves and all the parts that go along wtih that. So far the car is running smooth but when they fixed it before it ran fine for about two weeks prior to giving me issues again.

The dealer told me that they are following the chain of command for that issue and repairing it as they are told. The did however acknowledge that they are having a problem with the Chrysler 300's and that shaking problem. However, they said that right now all they have is theories on what is wrong and not a final solution from DCX.

I'll let you know if it has to go back for a 4th time.

Filed the Lemon Law..........now the waiting game .......... by angel008a
May 12, 2006 (11:16 am)
Well I filed for the Lemon law has been 4 days and still have heard nothing , they got my card that part is done the service manager says he is waiting on an inspector now to contact him and I to let me know when to bring my car in for him to look at .I hope they buy it back, and clear my credit for another .
It has a new problem now when I go to stop or am slowing down I get this feeling at my feet of some sort of something knocking or hitting just under my feet, It had never done this before now I'm getting concerned is my bottom going to fall apart now? sometimes it's a hard knock like I hit something in the road and it poped up and hit my undercarriage but i've hit nothing when this happens. and the it feels like it drags when going, I will be going a speed and feels like breaks are being applied kinda feeling it just brief slow down motion . This is really weird . I'll be so glad to get this car outa my driveway , I'm gona get a sticker to put on my back window of this car to let others know , and if they ask I'll gladly tell .
This dealership in Winter Haven has also given another lady problems by not standing by their product , she had transmission problems in a Magnum 2005 she fussed with them a year still no luck she lost money when she traded it in with another company . her's would pop out of gear when she was driving it , she only had 500 some miles on it.
I'm looking at Toyota and others . I'd like to stay american but heck if the americans can't take pride in something that carries our loved ones around ,why should I buy? If anyone out thier knows of a good american car please tell me.

Chrysler 300? by kendrasuejones

At least Chrysler is willing to work with you & I'm doing problem/research on the 300. Have a 2002 Chrysler; dark interior not comfortable here in the summer desert so am
looking at the 300. Am leery about having problems.
Had 2002 Toyota Camry, THE BRAKES WENT OUT (1100 miles)& TOYOTA WOULD DO NOTHING!! Have a file 2 inches thick of correspondence. Needed car for interstate driving & ended up "eating" $$$$$$$ thousands for Concorde. At least Chrysler isn't ignoring you

I've had great luck with both my 94 and 2002 Grand Marquis. They may not be "cool" like a 300, but they flat out run forever with only a few minimal well-known problems that have been debugged out of the car over the years. They are very cheap both used and new, as they are not considered stylish right now. They also don't have that "sitting in a cave" visibility of the 300.

Had a 2000 Intrepid R/T - great for about 3 years, and then it started to fall apart. I swore off Chrysler after that point - stylish vehicles, but they don't last. (Before someoen tells me about their 300,000 mile Chrysler, I've had siblings with similar experiences who both swore off Chrysler as well, so I'm happy for you, but it won't change my mind.)

Well we cant say we didn't see this coming.. read your lemon law clauses and KNOW your rights.. we decided not to go that route since we would loose money plus we have a 5yr warranty as a back up .. we had 6000 miles and I believe for every 1000 miles on the car there is s HUGE depreciation that Chrysler takes.. but none the less it may be worth it for you to SQUAWK loud and long for your rights... wishing you a happy resolve... ps: my next car is a cadillac

C SALEMAN, C SHOP PERSONAL, C DEALERSHIP OWNER by mbutler1
May 16, 2006 (6:24 pm)
Hi angel008a: I have a black 2006 300c 2 months old that had a bad air noise on the driver side. I took it back to the dealership and told them and took it for a drive and showed them!! For if air comes in water surely will. Angel, they kept my car for a month[and ofcourse I was calling these folk EVA WEEK checking on my black beauty!]and heard the same old song. We are still working on it" Ok Angel:: Im pissed now after 4 weeks! So I decide to take me a drive down to dealership. When I got there, I took me a walk around{inside and outside}looking for my car. "BINGO" There it was !! Parked around the back of the dealership with other old bend up cars, with enough dust on it had it looking brown! They had done nothen but parked it. I went straight to the saleman and we both went straight to the shop. I guess Angel I blew up so bad that I had a brand spanking new 2006 black 300c the next day straight off the truck with an additional 3gs worth of stuff I didnt have on my previous one FREE !!!! And this one is PERFECT!!

Car got hit by patticakes
May 17, 2006 (12:04 pm)
Over the weekend my '05 300C was hit by a 2001 Jimmy. The Jimmy is totalled & the 300C has seen better days. (Still awaiting the complete damage report) What surprised me was is that the hit happened on the passenger's side and the front airbags deploided but the side bags did not. On either side.
My thought is to contact Chrysler to let them know but I thought I would put it here for the vast amount of knowledge that is here for someone explain why they may not have "worked".

Thanks!

Report it to the NHSTA. Side airbags (if it has them) should have deployed the way it sounds. In the accord discussion there was an accident where the airbags didn't go off despite the considerable impact on the front corner. I would call that a safety problem.
