It's not only that some of us disagree. We are not here to discuss the pros and cons of the Avalon and Passat. There are other appropriate threads to discuss those vehicles. Please don't try to persuade us "badge worshippers" as you put it that we can save ourselves "thousands of $$$." WE"RE NOT INTERESTED!!! We are here to discuss the LPS listed above in "What is this discussion about?" Thank you.

No, he said, the whole system is deactivated when the light is on. That wasn't rally comforting to me. I should have asked sooner than the fourth visit to the dealer. At one point my loaner (after a 90 minute wait) was a metallic Orange Ford SUV.

He may not speak for everyone, but I have zero intention of discussing Avalon in here or anywhere else for that matter. Ditto Passat. That's not why I check on things in here...
