I need advice!! I was looking to lease and decided to purchase a 2007 X3 BMW. This is the deal I was offered.
Leather, Heated Seats, Xenon, Privacy Glass, Metallic Paint, Ipod adapter. $40,278. Do they have room to come down much more?
Wish I could get them to throw in the Sports Package!!
Leasing would be great, but I won't be in this state for more than 1 1/2 years.
I appreciate advice!
Thank You

That seems like a fair price.

Here's my 2007 X3 and you can compare:
 $47,895 (MSRP)
Silver/Gray Metalic Sand/Beige/Black Nevada Leather.
Premium Pk w/comfort seats,Xenon,Park Distance, premium sound, 18" Whheels, Servotronic steering, heated seats, tint, navigation.

$45,595
24mo/lease
12k miles

1074.52 which includes first months payment.

Base Payment 614.37/mo
Monthly California Tax 50.69
Total 665.06

Residual: 36,879.15

Delivery due January.

After my deal was done I realized I have to purchase Sirius Satelite. I wish I would of read the fine print about the Satelite. Then I would have negotiated better.

2007 X3 Discounts by wmdavis1

Based on a few posted comments, it appears that people are special ordering the X3 at about a 5% discount off the MSRP. Is that a fair expectation? I'm in Maryland, and would be interested if anyone local has gotten a similiar or better deal and where. Thanks.

2006 X3 by xchicagoan5

There seems to be a fair amount of 2006 X3s on the market with 2007s arriving and being sold or presold. Back in 2001, I bought my X5 4.4i this way. I waited until the initial model year run was over and got a great deal. What kind of deal can I expect to get on a 2006? The deals seem to be fairly good on the 07s - well below MSRP in many cases. An 06 deal should be great, shouldn't it?

What money factor are you using?

I'm not sure about the money factor. I know what the msrp is and what my monthly is going to be. Would that come from my sales person or is it a calculation of the numbers I've shown you?

Actually both. Based on what you said I calculated a pretty high rate (if I did it right). I have read other posters say they have a rate of .002 (4.5%). I paid a bit over this w/ my lease (probably dealer took the spread). Anyway, you can ask the dealer and he should tell you what rate they are using.

hey jeff......I just ran the numbers for your deal on my trusty spreadsheet, and assuming that they wrapped the normal acquisition fee of $625 into your lease, and you made no down payment (which you couldn't have given your drive off $), then they calculated your lease using a money factor of .00271. This is .00071 higher than their .00200 "buy rate" on the money factor, so this means they are making a profit of $58.97 per month on the financing. Over 24 months that's a total of $1,415.

Had they used their "buy rate" of .0020 your pretax payment would have been $555.40 plus tax of $45.82. Total of $601.22.

They knocked $2,300 off MSRP for you and then made $1,415 of that discount back on the financing. You could have done a lot worse.

Look at your lease docs. It should say what Acq fee they used and rolled into your lease. If it's higher than $625 then you'd have to adjust the money factor down until you got to the right payment.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the calculations. I did put $1074.52 down which $665.06 was part of first months payment. Those sales people are tricky. She said here's the price we are selling it to you for: $45,595 or $665.06/mo includes tax, 8.25% Then when she printed it on paper the
GRS CAP Cost 46,520.00
ADJ Residual 36,879.15
Tot Term Dep 9,640.85
Monthly Dep 401.70
MO lease charge 212.67
Est fees/term 712.75
Total payments 15,961.44
1st yr fees 360.75

That's not the hard part, waiting until January to cruise around in my X3 is tuff! I hope these figures can help others to a better deal.
