#7359 of 7624 Side and curtain airbags
Nov 20, 2006 (1:31 pm)
When I purchased my 2006 DC TRD 4X4 it was almost impossible to find the option available. Even at the very large Toyota dealerships none of them had the airbag option on the many Tacoma trucks on the lot. One dealer told me that they never ordered them because the Tacoma was already "very safe". Others said that Toyota didn't accept the order. Needless to say that was a ridiculous thing to say. I did find one and bought it. Side and curtain airbags are very, very important and should be standard. Making them very hard to find as an option is crazy. Toyota are you listening?

That was my experience too. These trucks are not cheap. They should have side airbags. Even second and third tier asian manufacterers are putting them in their cars as a matter of course now.

I have the same issue. 2006 Double Cab PreRunner built in Fremont.
I don't get the clunk when traveling fast on the dirt roads, only when I'm going slower. It almost feels like the rack and pinion system is loose or vibrating.

What did you find out? I have the same issue with the steering clunk on rough roads.

There is a TSB on this starting problem that came back in '05. Had the same problem and requested dealer to service for the No Start Condition TSB. It was rel;ated to the fuel pump and tank. Got a new tank/pump system installed under warranty.
#7366 of 7624 Lighted 4wd switch
Nov 30, 2006 (11:21 am)
Used 4WD last night driving home from work and still had to look twice for the dark 4WD switch.
I have been working on a lighted switch mod but though about installing the 4Runner's or FJ's switch instead.
Do the 07's have a lit switch?
