Hey, I live in the Baltimore area and I am out of the running for
the VW sweepstakes, decided to go for the Honda line, much
better and more reliable car and I like the styling a whole lot
better. I purchased (today) an 09 Accord EX with sunroof
and all the goodies out the door and on the road for $20,000
which is a damn good deal! It is real sharp and runs like
a dream. thanks, Buckeyewayne

Not really sure why you keep pushing Accords on a VW Jetta forum. For the record, I have a Pilot and actually already tested the Accord. I like Hondas, but the Jetta is much more fun to drive, has better accessories, is sportier and cheaper than the Accord. So, while your opinion may be appreciated on the Honda Accord forum, it is not needed here. Now, can anyone else comment on what they're paying for a JETTA SE??? Thanks.

I am looking to purchase an 09 Jetta 2.5 S, and was curious what people have been paying for these. I am looking at a Black Automatic with the Mugello wheels.

Also, does anyone have any idea what type of financing offers will be available for April? I am in the Midwest Ohio...

Thanks for anyone's input.

2009 Jetta SEL price by carbuyer81

I have benefited from this forum when I was in the market, and I want to share my experience. I have purchased my Jetta SEL (with 4 rubber floor mats and trunk liner) at $21,192.50 out the door.

selling price: $19850
tax: $992.50
title & reg: $86
Doc: $263

I think that they tend to give you more discounts toward the end of the month, and doing negotiation online was much more effective at least for me. Also, it was really important for me to find a dealer who are willing to work with you to find the car I want since it is a big investment!

Anyone else with pricing for the month of April? I live in MA and was curious what people are seeing. Also, does anyone know what the April incentives are? I was told by one dealer it was roughly $2,000 in March assuming you financed through VW, but April is now only $1,500. Anyone know for sure? Thanks.

09 Jetta TDI tmv pricing? by ishcm

Just got quoted a price of $22,500 plus tax and license for a 09 Jetta TDI automatic with sunroof and floor mats. With California tax and license the total comes out to $24,683. Is this a good deal? The edmunds.com TMV pricing says most people are paying $24,117 for the same car, but is that with tax and license included?

No - Edmunds [nor anyone else] can't estimate tax and license for every jurisdiction in the country....which is why I always discourage people from posting buying numbers labeled "out the door". This number has no meaning since your tax rate and my tax rate are completely unrelated. All I want to know is what you're paying for the car before the govt gets paid.

Anyway, your TDI deal sounds like a very good one indeed, and proof that the dealers are finally recognizing that there are lots of cars to be had out there. Discounting of TDIs has finally come to our neck of the woods, as well [Portland, OR].

(When posting prices, please tell us the price of the car separate from local sales taxes and licensing fees - the latter are simply irrelevant if I don't live in the same locale you do.)

Hi,
I looked but couldn't find the answer, so forgive me if this was discussed before.

I read the experience from various people but they all concern 'non basic' cars.

I am interested in getting the base Jeta model, on a lease.
VW advertises $199 a month for 36 month & $2499 as first payemt.
Is it possible to get a better price than this one for this car ?

I asked a few delears (Seattle area), and their all told me that they can't lower this price, some are even reluctent to even sale such a car

thansk for the info
