http://www.suntrupvw.com/MiscPage_3?siteMapItemName=468494508DB4100480480003BA77- - 890F after getting past the fact that an SE is NOT a wolfsburg. Im looking at the Jetta SE advertisement. MSPR on an SE is around 20-21k with the automatic. Seeing that their ad says there needs to be 2000 down im still looking at 16k +1000 more because of the loyalty cash and as far as i can tell ~17k for a VW jetta SE. I dont plan on leasing. am i getting all of this correct? edit: just read a few posts prior to this. seems as if the 13k price is for an S, still ~18k for an S auto isnt bad that's below MSRP

If their deal doesn't seem good, then move on to another dealer.. Maybe Suntrup VW is a great dealer... Could be... but, don't go by their advertising... It's all gibberish, IMO.. regards, kyfdx |

hi folks, just got back from my local vw dealer and iam not a happy camper...went to look at a 09 jetta s model with 5sp that just came in to the dealer....i am tradeing in a 08 honda civic lx 2dr coupe with auto....me and my girlfriend need a bigger car due to baby's arrival next month sometime...anyway,i did my reasearch on the trade-in values on my car at kelly blue book...fair condition was 15,300,good condition was 17,200.00, and excelent condition which mine is with only 2900 miles is 18,200.00 trade-in value....i was thinking to myself i would settle on 16,500.00 but to my suprise the vw dealer offered me the black book value of 13,500.00 and i left the dealership immidietly...these civic's are in high demand now due to the gas prices and when i told the dealer this and also about the higher kelley blue book value he would here none of this.....what a low ball price........

Which South Florida VW store did you go to? Live about 2 miles from Gunther on 441 in Coconut Creek. Almost bought the 2006 Value Edition from them back in late '05 but didn't trust the sales person...just a bad vibe we got. You're right about being low balled on your Civic...worth way more with such low miles. The Sandman |

sandman,i went to essermenn vw which is located on the palmetto expwy and 57th ave in north miami....i researched most vw dealers in the area and they all use the black book for trade-in values...i need to find a dealer that uses kelly blue book so i can get a better price for my civic.......steve

Then you can either sell to them directly, or point the VW dealer to the phone and tell them to call the person who is offering the highest bid on the Civic. I've often used this technique when trading at a dealership that is reluctant to give me a good trade value. Never had a problem getting a fair deal this way.

Replying to: ncskibum (Aug 19, 2008 7:45 am) Wondering 2008 v/s 2009 if change in style, 3 v/s 4 years maintenance offer and price difference are they worth going for 2008 or 2009? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
