Check through this forum or the extended warranty forum on edmunds.com. I bought a 2007 Toyota Camry for my mother last April and bought a 7yr/75,000 mile/0 Deductible Toyota Platinum extended warranty from Midwest Toyota (Kansas) for only $575 and the original San Diego, CA selling dealer wanted $1400! You can buy the extended warranty from any dealership. There was no inspection or fee associated with getting the warranty elsewhere with Toyota. If you would like to save a little money, call Honda Financial and just ask them if an inspection is necessary on a new car under factory warranty. You can also ask them the procedure for cancelling the one you got and what the time frame is. Toyota's time frame was 60 days with no cancellation charge. I would imagine it would be the same or similar for Honda. This may very well save you several hundred dollars.
Good luck!

I'm seeking advice on prices for the VW Jetta wolfsburg. I haven't seen many posts here about prices paid. I believe I'm being quoted 20.1K. Has anyone been able to negotiate below this? I'm going for the lowest price possible.

Personally id jump at that. We visited about 6/7 dealships in the NY area and best price i could negotiate was 20.4K. Go get the deal and split the diff with me.

I'd say it's possible. If you read a few pages back I got a base jetta automatic for $18560 OTD about a month ago but I'm in the Boston area though so I'm not sure how different your pricing is in CA.

Is $17000 OTD a good price for an 07 Jetta base model with no options and a manual? I think it's about $15500 for only the car. Could I get it any cheaper?

Hi all,
I'm new to, well, car buying, and posting about car buying. I'm debating between an end-of-lease purchase for my 2204 Jetta for around 10k or buying a 2007 Subaru Forester for around 21k. My main concern is safety, it rains a ton where I'm going and I want to make sure I have the safest car.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

will be putting down about 8k as a down payment, now comes financing, im sure my monthly intrest rate will be a good deal,(thnks to moms credit)but ill have to add collision where ill do all the work myself where i dont wanna add it,but insurance will be about 2200 for either car with 25$ collision where without it will be about 1200 every 6 months, im thinking about going to a bank and doing a loan from them, and hopefully they wont make me add collision , anyone have any tips on how to overcome that?
