What is a "reasonable" price for a new 06 Jetta TDI with the package 2 option? It's hard for me to get a good feel for these figures from the Edmunds tools, since a "new" 06 kind of falls into a gray area (not a new model, but not used either). |

Ok, they are giving me the value edition 2.5 2007 black exterior with 16" bioline alloy wheels for $18,925.20!...... looks like VW is giving them special incentives to sell this at a special price. on top of this they are charging me $600 for alloy wheels and the msrp 400. so thats how they are making money......I think I am going to buy this! 16999 was their price. + 600 for alloy which brings to 17599 +TTL and OTD is $18,925.20! |

Looking at either 2007 GLI or 2.0T (don't think the GTI is for me)in the Northwest: Package 2. What would be a great price? Also, opinions on GLI vs 2.0T? Thanks! |

Hi everyone, first I want to thank all of you who responded to my earlier post about the Jetta I was acquiring about, all your posts were so helpful, you can’t imagine!! I am so softy and push over sometimes, and you gave me the courage to walk out of one dealer after 3 hours there, smiling and shaking his hand, never the less, he asked more than what I was willing to pay, I did end up buying a Honda Civic though after comparing with the Jetta, I know other folks here paid between $18200 to $18500 OTD for the civic LX auto sedan, so armed with this information and refusing (gently, may I add) to pay for the adds on that was already on the car, I left there with my new car with 3 adds on from the dealer for the total amount of $18700. ( the invoice was $18355 ) I am sure he made money too or he would have agreed at end. I also decided to get the extended warranty since I am keeping this car for $ 1140 ( since I am a newly single mom and didn’t want to mess with repairs down the road with my low income pay check ) right after the 3 years period( isn’t funny how that works) I am sure I could have got it for little less on line as some mentioned, but he says I would had to pay money to inspected first, and a couple hundred dollars were not worth the hassle, did I make you proud? Was that a fair deal? Thank you so much again, I would have not been able to stick very close to my number without you, and I would have paid almost $1500 more for

Who told you this nonsense? I'd cancel that warranty from that dealer and buy it online for a cheaper price. Ask some of the others in here, but I think you were lied to on this. Hey guys, let's help this nice lady out here. Am I wrong about the dealer lying to her about the warranty? Should she cancel it and buy it online from those cheaper Honda warranty sellers? The Sandman |

Replying to: storrnyc (Apr 17, 2007 7:56 am) I paid 21.5 for a 2007 Wolfsburg this week...put 7,000 down and financed the rest at 2.9 for 3 years. I got a black one, too. You beat my deal by 1,100 bucks it seems....KUDOS!!! However, I did get them to kick in a window tint for free...(not worth much, just about 250.00 or so). I had a GREAT buying experience with a super kick-ass salesman who was TOTALLY low-pressure and fun to chat with during the process. His attitude was low-key like the cars would sell themselves...he just knew from the get-go that I would be back to buy the Jetta - and I did. I bought an extended warranty due to my high mileage commute of about 110 miles a day, so I'm covered for 100,000 miles vs. 50,000. It was probably a sucker warranty, but for an extra thousand bucks, it gives me a little more piece of mind. Has anyone gotten the Wolfsburg with the ground-effects and rim package? I almost got it, but it seemed ridiculous for another 3K. If so, are you happy with the ground clearance? My only complaint thus far is that the Wolfsburg doesn't come with the steering wheel stereo controls. Other than that, it is VERY well equipped.

Replying to: lonestarlawyer (Apr 23, 2007 5:00 am) I guess im lucky that NY has so many dealerships and wolfsburgs in stock. They were all willing to goto invoice price plus some nominal mini fees that i laughed at. I did the 3.9% financed the whole thing. fees registration and everything. Ill prob chip away at the principal amount in the next 6 months or so. Ill prob aim to off load in less than 18 months for something new but that depends on the missus as its her commuter ride to work and will get paid mileage. |
