The rear drum brakes had factory star clips that aren't necessary for driving, but the factory (steel) wheels are formed to clear the clips. This all just apparently reduces cost of manufacturing. Once they removed the clips the Borbet wheels fit and worked fine. So if you have a Malibu LS with drum brakes and you buy aftermarket wheels, make sure you tell the tire guy to remove the star clips before putting on the wheel. Jim |
