Replying to: dougc (Nov 15, 2005 5:58 pm) On my '05 Quattroporte, around 11,500 miles, clutch was making a little more noise, mostly from start and when cold. To my surprise, Maserati replaced the entire clutch, and did a software upgrade to new version. Shifts are much smoother now, in both manual and automatic. They also did a software upgrade to the engine managment and heating/AC systems, and did an upgrade (replacment) of engine mounts for smoother idle. Obviously no complaints so far to way I've been treated. Car is great for daily use, and have just put on a set of Michelin Sport AS to allow driving in the winter.   Pirelli Rossos, on the other hand, extremely poor wear on rear. Dealer says a number of cars are only getting about 8,000 miles on them. Has anyone experienced any electrical defects with their QP? I have had numerous...from head light malfunctions to window problems...and the car only has 2500 miles! In response to jerryposner: At about 10,000 miles I also had my clutch replaced due to the same awkward noise. It is working fine now. They also performed a couple of software upgrades. I have not noticed any changes in shifting, though. Also, after the software "upgrade" to my heating/AC system it behaves funny: the fan works at maximum speed all the time. Has anyone experienced this problem? Other than that, the car is great and I enjoy every minute in it.   Another question: What tires can on use for winter? I have Michelin Pilot now. They are great for summer, but terrible on the snow (and we have plenty of it already this season).

To get back to your questions on the difference between the 2005 and 2006 models are simply put: much faster shifting from the DuoSelect Transmission, also there are two new trims availalble for the Quattroporte. There is the Sport GT which boasts new 20" wheels and a carbon fiber interior and the Executive GT has an even more luxurious cabin. Happy hunting. If you have any other questions, email me. -Sam

Bad concept name like four doors name of Quattroporte. Front and rear dame ugly, i don't buy this Quattroporte for $90,000 luxury car!
