If you had to start all over again, would you still buy an Aveo?
 If so, Why?
 If not, Why?

I have a 2007 Aveo sedan, LT trim level. Overall, we are very happy with the car. There are a couple of minor design issues, but as far as performance, it never skips a beat. One of my favorite things about the car is how easy it is to maneuver and park it. It is good on gas but not as good as I thought, but with the newer models this may be improved. The cupholders need to be updated. Currently they are the "pop out" kind and are not very sturdy. If you drink canned sodas then you are in business. They fit perfectly. Anything bigger than that...well....good luck. I hope they design a better console with a storage compartment at the driver's elbow and built-in cupholders.

There are tons of cool features. Sunroof, awesome stereo with 6 speakers and controls on the steering wheel, cruise, 6 disc cd in dash, fog lamps, power everything, etc etc. Good luck. I will probably trade in the next year or so for an Aveo 5.

Does someone heard of any changes or "spy pics" for the 2010 Aveo 5?
I'd like to know if there's any major changes for the 2010 model.

Tire pressure sensor by lennyo

Greetings from hot and sunny Guam.

I had to replace the tire pressure sensor due to the fact the the guy who changed my tire broke it. But the "low pressure" light on the dash board will not go out. How do I reset it?

Thanks

My Aveo is a 2006 model, loaded to the max. I love my Aveo. The new Aveo with the same loaded options costs over 19K. I don't think so.

Maintenance question by sandyriver

I have a 2006 Pontiac Wave (which is the Canada-only version of Aveo). I like my car so far.

The 50,000 km (30k mile) mark is coming up. The manual recommended the following things:

- replace passenger compartment air filter
- engine air filter
- replace spark plugs
- coolant flush
- change brake fluid
- inspect a whole whack of things; and
- the usual oil change, tire roation etc.

All this for regular driving, not "short trips".

I don't recall doing all this at 50 k (30k miles) for any of my cars. Googling reveals that spark plug replacement is because this car uses copper core spark plugs whereas most GM cars use platinum ones.

Is it just me, or does the maintenance demands seem a bit much?

- sandy.

I didn't do all of that and my Aveo ran perfect with no problem. I did change my engine air filter when it was dirty. You can get it at Walmart, it is cheap. At 60K miles, I did change my spark plugs. They were good, but I want the most expensive ones (still inexpensive) for more power and better mpg.

Thanks andy_h. Since I posted my question, my car had a hiccup. The key got stuck in the ignition. There are serveral questions/comments in similar issues with aveos, so, this seems to be a common problem. It turned out to be a faulty selenoid switch that controls the shifter.

All the aggravation leads me to jus follow the preventive maintenance schedule to the letter. A stalled car in my situation is very problematic. (lost work hours and so on). I'm thinking now that the savings in this case may not be worth the aggravation.
