I have a new Tundra it is a good truck very pleased seems like you want to spend your time on the Toyota forum bad mouthing the Tundra. I owned a new 2004 Z71 that was a lemon. Sold it before the warranty went out now I see on the Chevy GM forum that they are having the same problems that I had and some are replacing the transmission at their cost since the warrany went out. The same problems that I had in my 2004 Z71 they are still having in the 2005 2006 & 2007 so when will GM fix their ongoing problems. The problems I had with GM they told me that it was normal in that truck at least Toyota has recogonized they have some problems but they are fixing them that is more than I can say for what GM has done.

You can read back in time within the posts of this forum for some of those comments. I would suggest that your test drive of the one you want buy over some potholes, speed bumps at least will tell you if the Tundra you're going to purchase was from a good batch. I'm only experiencing a lingering shivering after hitting some 7" deep potholes.. rather than any lingering bounce. Although its different from what I've experieced from other trucks I've owned, its not end of the world. It pulls a trailer just fine. If the one you test drive rides good, that may tell you more than anything you can glean from this forum.. the posts have the sound of more jabber than simply comprising Tundra owners feedback but a lot of those with ulterior motives (salesmen) .. both pro-Toyota and anti-Toyota. Check out some other forums while you're at it.

I have owned my DC4WDSR5 for 6 mos now. I have 10,000 miles on it and I still Love it. Just returned from a three thousand mile trip and averaged 18.4 with it over all. If I drive 75mph+ I get 16 to 17. If I hold it to 65mph I get a consistent 20 to 21.
In the 10,000 miles I have not had my bed shake, nor did I have any trouble seeing my guages in the Florida sun. My transmission shifts smooth as glass, my TRD exhaust rumbles nicely. I am not impressed w/radio, nor the remote start which won't work until you can just about reach out and touch the truck. My tailgate works perfectly and nothing is broken. When I pull my 30 foot travel trailer I get between 11 to 13 mpg depending on how hard I push it. I constantly monitor gas mileage and worst is 9 best is 21.6

And just love it.
The resources went into engineering, especially the superlative 5.7 liter engine, the innovative six speed transmission, and the oversized brakes, but even the other engines are outstanding(I owned a 2006 Tacoma with the 4.0 engine, and that was a great truck..the engine made the truck pretty quick).
And that is where the emphasis should be. Engineering, not cosmetics.
This truck really rocks. I would buy it all over again. Made the right decision. Acceleration is just outstanding, and the limited has a great sound system.
There are a good number of trolls in here who have to diss the new Tundra, but I am not much concerned by anything they say.

I would like to know what brand of truck you & anythingbuttoy own and if you all bash the ones you drive.I have had the vib.which was the torck converter & was fixed. If it was one of the other brands they would still be telling me it is normal.I think the new chev. is having trouble also. They all have problems But the service you get & the resale value is important.Good luck on what ever you all drive bacause if it's mechanical you will need.

My Tundra didn't come with fog lamps so I'm going to install some aftermarket lights. Question-does the truck come prewired for foglamps?
