I received a quote of 21,000 + tax for a 2010 Mazda3 Sport Hatchback with moonroof. Does that seem like a high price?

Location? Automatic? Other options?

Additional info would most likely be helpful.

2.5L
Automatic - but they call this a 6-speed manual overdrive transmission - salesman says its the standard with this model.
Moonroof
Mazda3 S hatchback
everything else standard, nothing optional included.

The 6-speed manual overdrive transmission is NOT an automatic. It is a manual transmission (as in clutch & row your own gears). A 5-speed Sport Automatic is optional.

Picked up a Mazda3 s GT 4-door, black mica with black leather, 6MT, moonroof/6CD/Bose, and wheel locks from Ourisman in Laurel, MD. Internet quote was $23,060 OTD, after a visit and some haggling it came to $22,704 OTD, or $21,290 before TTL...roughly $1k under invoice. Not a perfect transaction, but overall a good experience.

Mazda3 S sport 4-door Auto DEALER BAD EXPERIENCE! by soikido

Hey guy, I was in MD helping my sister to buy a car within 5 days. I picked the 2010 Mazada3 cuz my mom doesn't like the look of the civic nor the interior of a boring corolla. we own 2 Honda Accords so this was a change. Unfortunately the Mazda dealerships in this area were not very honest. They made up random fees and programs to try to trick you to pay more.

4 days before I left MD (Nov 11th) I requested online quotes from dealerships via edmunds.com. One dealership is willing to offer 17,800 for the car. Since there is a dealership name "congressional mazda" on Rockville Pike, MD right by my house (which they called and emailed me back without a quote) I decided to see if they would do a price match. After i took a test drive, set down with the internet salesman, he gave me as offer of the MSRP... (he got to me kidding me where is my internet quote?). I took out my iPhone email and said "Hey look, this is what I got from other dealership, can you match that?" he said, "damn, that's a very low number, I can try to see if my manager offers that." then he added "I know how this dealership do business, they charge you 400$ dealer fees on top of the processing fee, I would not lie to you and we only charge an 100$ processing fee that's it."

He came back and said "our manage would match it and we cannot go any lower". I asked him give me a OTD price please, he gave me a TTL 18,850$ = 17,800 + 750 destination + 300??. I was very confused at first because 17,800 + 750 = 18,550 not 18,850. What is that 300$? I asked. He said "if you compare to Apple to Apple, we need to compare the fees too you know" he told me he would minus 100$ so the "fees" for you would be 300+ 100 processing + TTL + tags

I asked him then "why would I want to buy from you if you would charge the same fees, plus can you prove to me that the other dealer charge that 400$". He just kept on saying Apple to Apple, Apple to Apple, he did not willing to take that 300$ off. I told him "I would have to think about it, I appreciate your time." and I walked out. It's not that I am poor and not willing to pay an extra 300$, I just found it's very unreasonable the way he does business. Apple to Apple my *beep*

Anyway my OTD price from "congressional mazda" on Rockville Pike, MD was 20,350$.

I ordered my car from other dealer but my family havn't picked it up yet. I will post my experience with this dealership after we pick up the car.

2010 Mazda 3 Hatchback automatic... by reign

I live in the Dallas area and was looking to see if anyone has bought one of these and for what price. The only option I want in this hatchback is the bose/moonroof. Maybe the tech. pkg too (since my wife wants the indicators that tell you when a car is in your blindspot...think this only comes w/ tech. pkg).

Any prices will be appreciated!

If anyone has leased this car for the 42mo/42K miles (or any lease) on mazda's sign and drive, how much did you pay/mo with the bose/moonroof option?

Thanks

Z2A, are you saying you got the bose/moonroof package and not just the moonroof? Did your car come with the floormats, homelink rearview mirror in the price you paid?

Edmunds site gave me a price of $21.325 (invoice) for bose/moonroof, homelink mirror, and floormats.

Thanks

First time car buyer here and a bit overwhelmed with the process. I have gotten 3 dealership quotes. The lowest I have received to date is $20,940 (which is includes destination, $1192 in local taxes, and $165 DMV). The TMV price is $19,760 --- if I include taxes and DMV, the total is $21,117. This is for the basic 2010 S Sport - no additional options. If feels like it is a fair deal but am wondering whether it might be possible to do better. I live in the NY/NJ/CT tri-state area.

any insights would be most appreciated!

Thanks very much in advance for your help!

I was offered $500 under invoice without any negotiating for a 2010 Mazda 3 GT here in California. You should shoot for a least that on your deal. Just my two cents.
