Replying to: minji (Aug 31, 2009 11:00 am) this is not uncommon in NJ, the dealers don't like to 'deal' (almost like everything has been price fixed). I would try putting some low offers infront of some NY, PA dealers and see how you get on. Herb Chambers in Boston is also pretty good on deals albeit, it will be a drive. I got a price from them last Dec on an Odyssey EXL-RES last Dec, $7000 under MSRP. Noted it was a 2008 which Honda were giving dealers a $3,500 year end discount on but this was still well under invoice. I ended up getting the same price from a NYC dealer which saved me about a 7hrs round trip to get the car. I am currently negotiating with them on another vehicle currently and looking as though I'll be approx $2000 below invoice OTD. Hope this was of help. Rgds |

I received a quote over the phone from wayne mazda today for a Mazda 3i-touring for $17,600 not including sales tax which puts it at $18,832 OTD.. is that a good deal? I took this deal to the manhattan mazda dealer and he basically told me that he couldn't go under $18,500 or he would be losing money.. he told me that there are no incentives or rebates for the dealers on this car... any thoughts? is the wayne dealer not telling me of some hidden fees he is going to charge me when i actually go to the dealership?

i made a deal with a dealership on a 3i-touring and they said that they would go find the color i wanted (white). i put down a $200 deposit. it's been two days and they still say that they are "searching" for the car. now i've gotten another quote from a different dealer for $500 less than the first dealer but it's for a color that's #3 on my list of colors i'd like (black). i was originally willing to pay more for the exact color i wanted but since the first dealer seems to be giving me the run around i'm willing to go with my #3 choice the black and save $500. does anyone know about the $200 deposit i've already put down? can i get that back? even though i don't get it back i'll still come out $300 ahead. allbeit it's not the ideal color i'd like to drive for the next forseeable future. does anyone know about the deposit and a possible refund?

Replying to: ejlee (Sep 10, 2009 7:05 pm) Check any receipt / document from the dealership for information about deposits and refunds. Contact the dealership and tell the rep you need an answer on the white car by this Friday or you will want your deposit back. Escalate to the manager if you are not satisfied with the answer.

I'm looking for a used Mazda3 Sport with under 35k miles. I'm very near Wayne Mazda in northern NJ. They have a ton of used 2006-2008 models that would work for me. These are listed from $13,995 to $16,995. One specific car is a loaded 2006 Sport with 30k miles for $14,995. How much room I have on these used models? What would be a good deal? I'd like to be at $13k OTD. Is that possible? Can I get it even lower? Are there any big advantages to a 2008 over a 2007/06? |

| Leased for 36 mos/10k miles/yr, cap cost $17,729, which is $500 BELOW invoice-very happy with the deal and the car. Got first color choice, and dealer had to trade to get it. | |
