Typical discount below invoice? by cyshes

Hi All,
I was wondering how much dealer would discount below invoice on a Mazda3 s touring automatic?

I am eligible for the x-plan, which I believe is invoice pricing. Since I can always get the car at invoice, I'm debating between waiting for the 2009's or seeing if I can get a better price on the 2008's.

Thanks!

Hi. I'm in the Indy area too. Did you end up buying here or Louisville? What dealership did you go with? We may be in the market again soon and would like to hear about your experience.

I got the Mazda3 I Touring Value, Automatic with all the standard stuff for $17990 Out the door. It was around $16450 with out taxes and fees. I don't know why the MSRP for this car was $18,365. It just went up the week before from $18145

This was in the San Diego, CA. I Called several dealers to see where I could get the better deal. None wanted to give me an over the phone quote lower than $18200 Out the door.

Wescott Mazda did say over the phone that they would beat any price I could find. Only they did not wanted to go back and forth. I did not end up buying it there...

I'm sure I could of got a lower price if I settled for a different color.

Hope this info helps. This forum helped me A LOT! saving me hundreds of dollar$!

help with 2008.5 Mazda3 sport GT by hemlor

Hi all, my wife and I are looking at purcahsing a 2008.5 Mazda3 sport GT. Unlike in the US, we Canadians don't really have the same access to invoice costs and such, so it becaomes a little more difficult to negotiate. I was wondering if anyone knows the approxiamte dealer/invoive price on this vehicle. I realize that it is more expensive in Canada and I will account for that, but I just want to know roughly the markup on the vehicles. The MSRP is $23, 500 CAD (add $1000 for Auto). Also in your opinion is the GT a better value than the GS. There is about a 1200 dollar difference but it seems like you get quite a bit more, Ijust don't know that I care about the extras (except for the 17" alloy low-profile)

Thanks

Hey kdiesel.

I got my son's Mazda3i touring value, automatic for $18,252.64 out the door from Riverside, CA Mazda. The tax rate was 7.75%. It was $16,679 without taxes and fees, but we got the 2009 ($400 more) model because they didn't have the metro gray in the 2008.5 model. If we had chosen another color in the 2008.5 model, it would have been $16,279 or less than $17,852.64 OTD.

The dealership also gave us a full tank of gas. I was a little peeved that we drove 30 miles and they didn't have the right color in the 2008.5 model when they said they did, but metro gray is the most popular color in this area due to it's dark metallic color, and we still got a great price for a 2009 model. A lot of dealers did not carry the metro gray because the color came out late in 2008, and it sells fast.

Thanks for sharing your story.

Looking to purchase a 2008 3i touring value with manual transmission in Central Ohio. I have seen purchase prices between $15500-$16500 over the last couple months. It seems July was a better month to purchase. Prices are creeping back up this month. Is this a good month to purchase or should wait for sometime in September or even November? Based on what I have read so far, a $17500 OTD price including the 6.75% taxes and $250 documentation is an good price. What was the lowest price that you got in Central Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Eastern PA, South East Michigan and from which dealer. I do not mind having to travel 2-3 hours from Columbus Ohio to get a good deal in a nearby State.
