Hi Rocketzo
I was also looking at the Mazda3 s Touring Auto Hatch in the Chicago area.

Got quotes of 18998 and 18900 +TTL.

They were both by phone. I reckon you could chip a couple of hundred off but it seems to be about right.

Invoice is 18727 according to Edmunds. I bought the Consumer Report thing that tells you what the dealer actually paid. According to that there is a 388 dollars hold back for the dealer, meaning the real invoice is 18339 or lower.

Good luck.

Mazda3 Touring 5 Door by algorhythmic

I wanted to share my purchase details. Hopefully, it will help others. I purchased a Mazda3 Touring 5 door. Manual transmission, silver, 6CD/moonroof package, rear bumper plate, floor mats. Out the door price was $19,794 ($18,550 for the car + $930 tax + $65 for registration + $249 documentation fee). The dealership also threw in the first 3 oil changes for free. According to Edmunds, the invoice price on the car is $18,708. The documentation fee is a standard thing at dealerships in Massachusetts, and I've seen them vary from anywhere from $100 to $500. From my experience, it is not negotiable. I did internet pricing, and the purchase experience through North End Mazda in Lunenburg, MA was very painless. I qualified for the 0% financing and took advantage of that also.

Mazda3 Touring 5-door manual by subtracticus

Hi folks,
This forum was helpful over the last couple months as I began looking into buying a Mazda3, so I thought I'd share my own purchase details.

I bought a Mazda3 Touring 5-door, manual tranmission in galaxy gray from Mazda of Oakland. Invoice price according to Edmunds was $17,841. Another dealer had previously quoted me $17,700 so I took that to the Oakland dealer and asked them to beat it, which they did with the offer of $17,500. I don't have the out-the-door total in front of me but it was just the sale price plus the standard CA sales tax and DMV fees - no weird advertising fees or any of that.

There was a bit of debate about whether I qualified for the 0% financing because even though my credit score was excellent I'm a first-time car buyer and I don't have a whole lot of credit built up, but after the dealership consulted with Mazda's finance department I was approved.

The dealership was great. Friendly and easy-going all around. I was prepared for a battle once I got to the F&I office, but encountered nothing of the sort. The only add-on he tried to sell me was the extended warranty and when I said I wasn't interested he didn't press the issue at all.

So far I'm loving the car. Haven't put enough miles on it to see how the mileage comes out yet, but it's a joy to drive. I was looking for something that had some cargo space since I transport equipment for my job pretty regularly, but I also wanted something that would be fun to drive. The 3 has fit the bill perfectly.

Is there still an S model and an I model? Back in '05 when we got our S, those were the only two models, as I recall.

Just paid 18500+TTL+53 doc fee for an automatic touring hatch with no options (wouldn't pay for mats, pinstripe and autoguard but got them anyway for 'free'). And two tanks of gas.

Invoice is 18727.
Paid 18500.

Not a great price, but not a bad one either.

The car is pretty good for the price.

I'm dealing with Walser Mazda in Minnesota - it's a "no haggle, one price" place, and they really mean it. I think they've got a pretty good deal, though I haven't actually made the purchase yet. I'm looking at a Grey 4 door Mazda3 S Touring, here's what it's shaping up to be:

$18920 MSRP
-$1500 "Walser discount"
- $300 Coupon from mazda site (presented when you build a car online)
- $250 "friends & family" coupon (a friend bought at this dealer)
------
$16870 (for the car, still add in TTL etc...)

Seems like a good deal to me; the only thing that bums me out is there was a bit of paint scraped off one fender at some point on the lot, and while they'll fix it, it's no longer factory paint. They don't seem to want to discount for that... any thoughts?

I would write it into the agreement that you want to be satisfied with the workmanship or you will not be taking the deal.

p.s. of course you know this won't be the last scrape or ding or dent but only the first.

Of course... but I'd rather it be my ding and not some lot-jockey's.

I am seriously considering purchasing the Mazda 3 I-Touring Automatic 4 door, the only option I am getting is the Air Bag/ABS package. MSRP is 18,145 which includes a $595. destination charge. I have been quoted
17,221
1,076 sales tax
55. inspection
72. plates
50. document fee
38. for some other fee
18,511,77 total
Just Found the 300.00 discount for filling out a form online. So I will be using that. Thanks for that info.
Is this a good price or should I wait to see if there will be other discounts? Should I ask for more of a discount or maybe have the dealership throw in a few freebies like window tint, pinstripe, oil changes, etc. I have bought other 2 cars from this dealership was hopeing for a little better discount.
