According to Consumer Report, there is a dealer incentive of $388. So i guess the dealer paid 18727-388=$18339. How can they offer it at 3000 below MSRP i.e. $16970? I've never heard of anybody paying almost 2 grand below invoice for a Mazda3. Can it be done?

Check out my message 14394 on the Accord prices paid forum for more useful info on how to buy a car. --jjf

Replying to: jfritsch (Jun 23, 2007 9:36 pm) i'm looking for a s GT automatic and i really want the 0.9% financing that ends on july 9th. (not sure if i can get it, but i'd like to try for it.) is it gonna be a bad time to contact the dealers now? (june 24/25th) or should i wait for july/aug, and hope that they may have financing offers in those months too.. thanks! |

Replying to: ike3 (Jun 19, 2007 9:55 am) I mispoke. I have a '00 Jetta. The new VW's aren't very fuel efficient, compared with the Mazda or a Honda. I was also rather disappointed in the build quality of the Jetta, compared with previous VWs I've owned (I have a '90 Corrado that I'm reluctantly going to part with and it has much better build quality than the '00... and it's 17 years old!). The new VWs are nice but after I test drove the Mazda and read the consumer reports recommendation, I was basically sold. |

I got quote of 18,879 plus TTL only. The dealer confirmed that ONLY TTL would be added and no other processing or AD fees. If that is the case is this a good deal for a 2007 Mazda 3 s Touring with Automatic Trans? Id really appreciate any comparison info and also hope this quote helps others looking at similar trim! Thanks!

Replying to: rocketzo (Jun 25, 2007 2:31 pm) I was also looking at the Mazda3 s Touring Auto Hatch in the Chicago area. Got quotes of 18998 and 18900 +TTL. They were both by phone. I reckon you could chip a couple of hundred off but it seems to be about right. Invoice is 18727 according to Edmunds. I bought the Consumer Report thing that tells you what the dealer actually paid. According to that there is a 388 dollars hold back for the dealer, meaning the real invoice is 18339 or lower. Good luck. |

| I wanted to share my purchase details. Hopefully, it will help others. I purchased a Mazda3 Touring 5 door. Manual transmission, silver, 6CD/moonroof package, rear bumper plate, floor mats. Out the door price was $19,794 ($18,550 for the car + $930 tax + $65 for registration + $249 documentation fee). The dealership also threw in the first 3 oil changes for free. According to Edmunds, the invoice price on the car is $18,708. The documentation fee is a standard thing at dealerships in Massachusetts, and I've seen them vary from anywhere from $100 to $500. From my experience, it is not negotiable. I did internet pricing, and the purchase experience through North End Mazda in Lunenburg, MA was very painless. I qualified for the 0% financing and took advantage of that also. | |

Hi folks, This forum was helpful over the last couple months as I began looking into buying a Mazda3, so I thought I'd share my own purchase details. I bought a Mazda3 Touring 5-door, manual tranmission in galaxy gray from Mazda of Oakland. Invoice price according to Edmunds was $17,841. Another dealer had previously quoted me $17,700 so I took that to the Oakland dealer and asked them to beat it, which they did with the offer of $17,500. I don't have the out-the-door total in front of me but it was just the sale price plus the standard CA sales tax and DMV fees - no weird advertising fees or any of that. There was a bit of debate about whether I qualified for the 0% financing because even though my credit score was excellent I'm a first-time car buyer and I don't have a whole lot of credit built up, but after the dealership consulted with Mazda's finance department I was approved. The dealership was great. Friendly and easy-going all around. I was prepared for a battle once I got to the F&I office, but encountered nothing of the sort. The only add-on he tried to sell me was the extended warranty and when I said I wasn't interested he didn't press the issue at all. So far I'm loving the car. Haven't put enough miles on it to see how the mileage comes out yet, but it's a joy to drive. I was looking for something that had some cargo space since I transport equipment for my job pretty regularly, but I also wanted something that would be fun to drive. The 3 has fit the bill perfectly. |
