Best Pricing? by ike3

Anyone had any experience with Wayne Mazda? Supposed to be the largest volume Mazda dealer in USA. Also in the top 20
was Gunther Mazda, Delray Mazda and Palm Beach Mazda in FL. And the other one I was interested in was Walser Mazda in Burnsville, MN. Yes, I do get around! Anyone that has experiences with any of these or other NE/Midwest/FL dealerships, with actual numbers, please respond here or PM me. Financing aspects, I'm not really interested in. Many posts on this forum are spending alot of time with the nuances of financing. This will be a cash deal, period.

Wayne Mazda has the largest inventory in the NY Metro Area. They are claiming to be the largest in the Northeast. Haven't heard being the largest in the US though. I've been to that dealer and they do really have a HUGE inventory. It's just that when I was buying, I really want a 3S GT 5door 5M. They only have auto-sticks at that time and I'm really tired of driving automatics, even though it's an auto-stick.

Wayne Mazda and Maxon Mazda in Union has somewhat a partnership. Maxon Mazda has about half of Wayne's inventory which is not bad. They do have one of the smallest inventories in the NY Metro Area. But their sales people are great! Look for Denise if you're interested in this dealer. They even had a promo at that time of evaluating your trade-in at $4000 regardless of condition, as long as it is running fine!

I ended up buying mine in Sansone Rt 1 Mazda in Avenel, NJ. Would I suggest that dealership? A big no. The only reason I bought mine there was they have what I want. And they've only given mine at 22575 with the options (MSRP around 23000, Invoice at 21800). My salesperson is ok but their Finance Managers are the worst I've seen so far.

In the NY Metro Area, try to avoid the NY dealers, NJ dealers are much better and have better inventories. Last time I've checked, Wayne has 20 Speed3's! While the NY dealers only have 2 or 3 in their lot.

mp6466 - I totally agree! Everytime I pulled up on a parking lot at a Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot or any mall, it just turns heads. I've always been approached by anyone, just wanting to get a glimpse of my car. It really has that Lexus look. Yes, silver is somewhat sold to many people already and mine is silver, but because of the uniqueness of the 5door, it still amazes a lot of people.

I have bought a 2007 M3 GT 5-speed from Walser Mazda in Burnsville,MN. They have been the BEST dealership i have ever dealt with. Easy going sales people and no "hammer" when it comes to the extras. I would highly advise you to look into them. I used to live Jupiter Florida and i can tell you from going into those dealerships you will not get treated as well down there. If you want to send me an email and i could set you up with the best salesperson there. I promise you, you will like dealing with them. And then you can enjoy the ride back to NY.

Zzoomp09, thanks for the advice. I am familiar with that dealership in Avenel...I bought a car there when it was Datsun. High pressure and awful dealing with them. I was much younger then too, and was too dumb to walk out the door.
Wayne Mazda sells the most Mazdas in the entire USA. It says so in their internal, glossy publication that is distributed to the dealers. It used to be Maple Shade Mazda back in the 1980s and early to mid 90s.
Anyone else with an aggressive discounter in the NorthEast, upper Midwest, or FL?

Hi,

I just purchased a 3iTouring from Lodi Mazda yesterday after a poor experience the same morning at Garden State Honda.
I did not use Wayne Mazda simply because I was happy with the deal at Lodi and the guys at Lodi responded to my inquiry prior to anyone else.

I have not heard anything negative about Wayne from anyone in the area. There is a BBB report on them though, and they are not BBB members. Might be worth checking out (a single report may also be a good indicator given the potential number of complaints, yes?)

A large inventory does not guarantee good service however (as you well know). Sometimes the small guys try harder.

FWIW, after reading "confessions of a car salesman" on Edmunds, I am keenly aware of the Dealership Management's influence on the behavior of the salespeople. I tend to that as a guidepost for judging the Dealer's overall quality of service and attitude towards customer service.

Lodi Mazda had a good selection of colors in my price range and the staff was VERY nice.

FYI (for others in the area not paying with cash): Their finance department saved me over 4K in finance charges versus financing I obtained on my own, prior to the visit.

There was no haggling, and the salesman, Mayad Mustafa, was very friendly, patient and helpful.
Their pricing was as good (within a few tens of dollars) of "deep discount" internet pricing I'd received prior to shopping for the car.

Anyhow, good luck with your purchase. It's only been a day with the car but I already like it better than my '02 Jetta.

Bluloo, thanks for the valuable info. I am seeing discounts off MSRP of $1600 for the 3i touring model, in my search so far. You took this over the 07 Jetta? Interesting. I know you said you had an 02 Jetta, but the new one is a different animal now...but pricey.

Mediocre. The $19000 Mazda 3 regularly sells for 2500-3000 off MSRP. Hit 15-20 dealers end of month thru mazda website with emails and your colors and specs and see what shows up. You should get more off. Work the best 3 against one another.

Good luck
