Here's my experience: I've spent a few weeks trying to locate the Mazda 3 of my choice which was basically a 3i Touring or an S with the auto tranny-no specific preference in color although I did actually want the Sunlight Silver. After calling 4 dealerships today and feeling discouraged I contacted Guiffre who told me there were no iTourings and only one S model left (Sunlight Silver-how exciting!) The catch was it had the moonroof package which i didn't really want.   The bottom line is they quoted me 20,989.44 OTD. Here are the fees they listed: 18,500 or the car 199.00 for VIN etching (which i wanted for insurance purposes) 12.50 Waste tire fee 150 Registration 10 inspection 45 dealer fee   Are there are hidden charges in there somewhere because this doesn't seem to add up? Replying to: thetrumphet (Aug 18, 2006 6:46 pm) Personally, I'd leave it. If you look hard enough you can find that car new for that price, at least here in LA. There are too many similarly sized new vehicles for that price even with similar equipment.

Fremont Mazda in Northern California is the crappiest dealership. They advertised $400 off Invoice for ALL MAZDA3 models until the END OF AUGUST. After countless calls back and forth, they say they don't have any in stock.   Once they had the Mazda3's back in(Today 8/20/06), it was NOW $200 over invoice! How convienient. Never shop there.

Unfortunately all the dealerships in GA have a non-negotiable $400 fee for admin (docs titles etc - all stuff I could have done on my own). Still I think I got a good deal. It takes patience. Don't be afraid to send the salesman back to his sales manager 4 or 5 times before you get the deal you want - I'm sure they still made plenty of money off me. I am talking to a dealer about an '06 S Grand Touring Hatchback. The MSRP is $22,055. It is automatic, with the moonroof/bose package and rear bumper step plate. I found that not only did they overcharge me the police precinct will do it for free. Once i realized the scam Guiffre was trying to pull I called them on it. They claim that they VIN etch ALL their vehicles-it's THEIR policy and thats what they charge. My next question was why i should i pay it then if its YOUR choice? Anywho, after further investigatation of the slip they wrote out I noticed they charged me destination twice and taxed the car, 2 destination fees AND the etching. An automatic S model which was quoted at 18,500 turned out costing just about 22,000. I was infuriated and took my deposit back.   The bright side to this whole thing is I paid a visit to Wantagh Mazda who only had an S Touring but guess what folks? It cost me less than the S once it was all written up AND i got wheel locks!!! 21,500 and I'm out the door! Picking it up tomorrow and can't wait!!!!
