Gas Coupon by sandman46

This came right from the dealer with some other coupons that had expired on June 10th. The gas coupon had no end date so they reluctantly accepted it. With us, they used the $500. as a downpayment plus they would only allow $2500. to be put on the Shell Mastercard. Now all they need to do is locate a car, which they just called and said possibly tomorrow and definitely by friday, as a ship just docked up in Jacksonville. We'll see though, but he did say the deal is made and they will honor it even if it goes into the early part of next week. So far, they've been pretty upfront and their location is sweet...right outside our development, like 2 1/2 miles door to door.
Will keep y'all posted. I think we did pretty good with getting invoice and the use of the 2 coupons and getting an acceptable price on our trade which Terry nailed to the dollar!

Normally rebates are taxable - same as cash. So if you apply your Gerber or college rebate to a car, they calculate the tax then take off the rebates/coupons. Here the tax rate is 7% on the price of the car, so a $500 rebate nets you $465 in savings. It would work the same way if you asked them to mail you the money - since the price of the car would be higher and taxable.

I went to your links and found the front and back page of the ad. When I printed all I got was a large version of about one-quarter of the page.

Do you know how to print this so I get the entire ad. I have broadband and an HP inkjet printer.

I was able to submit the form to get the certificate number for the $600 off. It says that I must have the advertisement as well.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I just checked them, and all the images are good. So check the sizes you have against the ones here:

http://www.dwynne.com/mazda/gerber/

and I bet you will find you got an incomplete download. The larger set is scanned at a higher rate, but will be a long download w/o a high speed connection.

I can tell you that most dealers (including the one I was at today) are going to insist on the original card from Gerber and not a copy. So you will have to either get the images professionally printed double sided or hope your dealer does not ask for the original.

Purchasing a new Mazda vehicle is easier than ever, thanks to the new automated PIN Request application. Click the link below to request your S-Plan PIN.

The Mazda New Vehicle Purchase Plan is offered by Mazda North American Operations to encourage MNAO employees, retirees, their families and Mazda's business partners to drive new Mazda products.

Who is Eligible?

Mazda3 i: Is This a Good Deal? by clueless123

Hi All,

I've made a deal with a dealer about purchasing a Mazda i 2005 with:
- Basic CD player;
- Automatic;
- A/C;
- Power windows.

The base price they ask for is $16,000. After applying Gerber coupon, it is
reduced to $15,500. Plus 5% tax ($775), it becomes $16,275.
Plus document fee, $195, and title transfer, $65, the total is $16,535.

Is this a good deal? The dealer insists on my paying everything by cash or
finance but doesn't want to accept more than $1,000 creadit card payment.
BTW, I know another dealer in the area is willing to accept $8,000
credit card payment.

Is this a good deal?

Running the numbers on Edmunds.com shows an invoice of $16,106.

The doc and title fee are a touch on the high side, but the price is below invoice.

Dealers don't like the take credit cards because of the fees. Why do you want to use a credit card?

Anyway, a short answer to your question is - Yes.

The last time I bought a car (3 years ago) the dealer wouldn't let me use a credit card at all...I thought that was standard, but I don't really know.

For me, it'd be nice to use a credit card instead of cash because I have a card that gives me 1% cash back on my purchases. If I use the card and then pay it off immediately (instead of giving the money directly to the dealer), I get a free $10 for every $1000 that I put on the credit card. Not a bad deal...
