**I did ask for advice BEFORE I purchased, but didn't really get any reply's. I was still curious how I did after my purchase. I love the car so far and that is what really matters. I understand what you were saying about purchasing in June/July, but a Mazda 3 hatch with a manual trans and with the ABS and moon roof packages has been kind of hard to find in my area. This is especially so if you want a certain color. I live in a suburb of Detroit. Dealers are not over anxious to deal with you when they do not even have the car in stock and when the cars are moving so well. I ALSO USED THE GERBER REBATE WHICH EXPIRES IN JULY. I don't know how much of a price break I would get on a 2005 if I would have waited until Sept. or Oct. but I don't think it would be too much. I would not have been able to get the Gerver Rebate and I probably would not have been able to get the exact car I wanted or I would end up purchasing a car that had sat on a lot and had been test driven by every curious teenager in the neighborhood that wanted a stick shift. All in all I got the car for $17,762 and that is with TTL (out the door). The MSRP on this car is $19355. I don't think I could have done much better than that in Sept. or Oct. Oh, and don't forget that last year, from what I experienced, there were no great deals on the 2004's when the 2005's came out. Like you said, it is time to just enjoy the car and THAT I AM DOING!! Fun car! Thanks. |

Just a clarification: The Mazda certificate (obtained by filling out the online form at www.mazdausa.com/gerber) is only transferable within a single household. This means that it is NOT transferable to anyone outside of the original household. In other words, if one person emails a Mazda certificate to another person, it won't be valid. Ok, now didn't we all agree to stop posting about this in here?

Just got off the phone with the internet manager and he says he can and will find us our car within the next day. We're going in tomorrow at 2 p m to see what he's found. My wife drove what she wanted at a different dealership, I mentioned this to him. Hopefully, he'll have something close to it, or will try to trade for that one. Got my Mazda coupon online about a week ago with the special # on it plus the dealership had sent us a packet with a free 6 month gas coupon plus some other coupons. Do plan to use as many as we can. This dealership is right outside our development, not even 5 minutes away, so I want to give them the 1st shot at getting our business. Nice internet guys to. Wish us luck, but I do think we'll have a Mazda3 s in the garage on thursday, June 30th! The Sandman (Don't have the Gerber rebate, but I think you can only use 1 of the rebates, either the Mazda or Gerber. Am I correct on this?) |

Question: If I was to shop around October for the 2005 models, how many more can one expect to save compare to buying now? audia8q replied: if your in the northeast you might save a little but the selection will be terrible. Based on the current sales rate, here in the northeast, we will be out of cars before the 2006's arrive in october. You're right about the risk: in the fall the availability of the 2005 may be extremely low. Last year, when did your dealership sell out all your 2004 Mazda3s? Here in Ottawa, sales of the previous year's models seem to continue to the end of the year. Since the 2005 models will be considered a year old, they should be subject to a year's worth of depreciation. You may want to ask dealers in your area what they are offering to sell last year's (2004) models for comparison; a 15% depreciation is not unusual in the first year. After that first hit, depreciation tends to level off but it's still shocking to see how fast our babies lose their value in the market.

Don't know what your problem is. These boards are here to inform but also help others. Think you need to worry more about yourself and quit worrying about what others are doing...sheeesh! Just got a call from the dealer. We need to go in tomorrow at 2 p m and see what's on his computer. He said he can get us a S model in the Titanium color...it just might not have all the options the wife wants. He said he might be able to dealer trade with the car she drove and loved yesterday. I would rather deal with him, as he's right across the street rather than drive the 15 miles my wife did. Want to do most service at the closer dealership and would like to purchase from them also, as they've been so nice to us over the last month. She thought she wanted the 6, but has now decided on the 3. The Sandman |

Replying to: bala77 (Jun 27, 2005 12:34 pm) Heck, we have a detailer that will come to the office and clean our cars for $25-30 each and do a clean and wax for $60-80. That $600 would pay for a lot of his work with 0 sweat on my part Dennis |
