Just because you're older doesn't mean you can't be cool.. 40 here and proud owner of a 05 3S.

I'm 40 as well, and my Velocity Red 2005 Mazda3 hatch 5-speed is proudly equipped with a sport seat (in the back, of course) for our 4-year-old son Sean, who loves zoom-zooming as much as his dad!

I've had my '06 3s for nearly three weeks and still can't get enough of it. MPG has run between 27-30 hwy. She's Ti Grey with 20% tint all the way around, moonroof, 5spd AT, and the rear wing spoiler. Everyone who sees it have nothing but gushy compliments. This car raised the bar.
ps. I formerly drove a '98 Saturn SL (5spd man, NO PWR STEERING - only options on that were A/C and the pass-side mirror [can you believe it, it only came w/ one mirror!]). You can imagine my delight these days!

Its been just 3 weeks since i got my '06 Mazda 3 GT. Its real fun to me so far, i make up reasons to drive the car. I think somebody was saying it has multi color dashboard and even i heard somewhere that we can change the dashboard color from red to blue..how is this, can anyone tell me how to change the color of dashboard if at all it could be done..

No, I think we're stuck with red (of course, the red has blue backlighting behind the gauges at night -- maybe that's where you heard about blue).

Want to see something wild? Go to your dealership at night and take a look inside a Mazda5 with the dash lights on. It's the same dash as the Mazda3, but its backlighting is green -- even the radio display!

That button is only for increasing the intensity of the backlighting when you've got your headlights on but it's not dark out -- i.e. in foggy conditions, or twilight. Press that button at night and the intensity of the red will knock you into the back seat.

Hi, My name is Jonathan and I wanted to say hi to all the mazda owners. I recently purchased a 2005 -S, Silver metallic with black and red interior. I commute ~ 100 miles a day and driving a SUV was hitting me hard. I was looking at Civics and Corrolas but after seeing the 3 on the road I fell in love with the styling. When I test drove the 3 I was impressed by the interior quality, and the handling; well lets say just say zoom-zoom.
After driving my 3 days of the car pool I still have the dealers gas, usually I have a $45 fill up. I have no complaints so far, and I am very happy with the choice I made.

Hello and thanks for being here! Without all of your helpful posts, I might be stuck in a used Solara, Focus, Civic, or Jetta... but everything I've seen pointed me straight to the 3. Mazda may not have the reputation for rock-solid reliability that Honda or Toyota has, but I haven't come across anything that would frighten me off.
I am soon to be the proud owner of a green/beige '05 3i w/ auto, ac, p/w, pdl, keyless entry and about 23,000 mi on it.
There's some minor scratches on the rear bumper, but nothing to make it a deal-killer. My girlfriend and I both loved the test drive- I'll have to get used to not accidentally thowing it into manual, as well as remembering the turn signal lever is very quiet and sticky. I'm coming from a '91 Tempo, and my girlfriend an '89 Celica ST, so the 3 is like a magic carpet in comparision. I simply got tired of wondering what the next thing to go would be (you don't want to know how much time and sweat has gone into keeping that #$% Tempo on the road). I'm going through Central Mazda in Plainfield CT, and can't wait to gaze lovingly out my window at my new 3. Zoom-zoom, indeed!
