My name's Christopher. I've had my 3 since the weekend before Christmas. I'm just shy of 600 miles. It's an S with the auto tranny. I probably should have held out for the ABS/SAC/whatever package, but I'll live. Well, I'll live assuming I don't get in a horrible side impact accident...

But anyway, I really love this car so far. I find myself smiling as I drive it and I certainly like the looks and compliments at when I'm at the gaspump. it's been a blast so far.

Ola... Took delivery of likely the 1st Mazda 3 in Ottawa (one of the very firsts in Canada/USA??) on November 20th, a GT-GFX Sunset Orange 5speed. Got close to 2400 km on it already, but the pace will slow down as the excitement settles a bit... Great Great Great car, fabulour looking (not quite as good looking as my old Acura Vigor but then again, what is?...

I'm hangin mostly at the main Mazda 3 thread in sedans, so I dont plan to run back and forth between threads. Of course we need a "Ottawa Mazda 3 Owner Club"...

I understand your reluctance to keep current with several discussions, however, most owners find having dedicated threads for accessories, problems, and maintenance beneficial.

Do you use the subscribe feature?

OK, I'll go next. I'm in L.A. and bought by Starlight Green w/beige interior M3i two weeks ago today -- Dec. 17, 2003. Its options are auto trans, A/C, safety package and power/alloy package, and I paid $300 over invoice because I was able to take advantage of Galpin Mazda's no-haggle discount to USC alumni.

I love, Love, LOVE it ... and I have gotten so many compliments on it, the most recent today from a guy who owns both a Mercedes SL500 and a Jag X-Type. I need to start using the tiptronic thing (or whatever Mazda calls it!), but I have never driven stick so I kinda don't get it. But I resolve to try it at least once in the new year.

And for those of you who don't know already, my screenname is wantapassatnow because when I subscribed I really did want a Passat. Badly. But then I test drove one and realized that no, I really don't want a Passat now! This led me down a long and winding road of trying to figure out what car to get ... and the rest, as they say, is history.

Hi everybody - I got mine on Dec. 6th in Denver, CO. Currently have just under 1000 miles on it, and it gets better every day - still can't stop smiling! My specs: Mazda 3s sedan, Titanium Gray, Black/Red interior, 5-spd, sunroof/6 CD-changer, ABS/SAB/SAC, Xenon headlights/tire pressure monitoring system. I also have a clear nose mask and tinted windows (dealer-installed before I got to it, but they gave them to me at cost).

This car is simply unbelievable - excellent performance, handling (as long as it doesn't snow), features and accessories - and all for under $20k. And I think its been responible for more than a few sore necks from other drivers. As of 12/31, I have yet to see another 3 on the road - more fun for me!

Hello all,

I hope you were able to view pics of my M3 posted yesterday in the other forums(remember to refresh the page when you open each link).

My Mazda3 is a 5 speed, Silver Sport GT with A/C, Moonroof. Took delivery yesterday, Tuesday December 30, 2003. The car is better than expected and makes me feel excited to drive. This car was designed to replace my aging hatchback. I am too young to buy a Sedan. But I love the look of the M3 4 door, very tempting.

I have owned many cars in my time including, Mustang GT vert, Camaro SS 6spd, Eclipse Turbo, Corolla, Civic, Celica, and several other cars I am too embarassed to list (we all make mistakes).

I Just got snow tires (16in Pirelli 210 Sport and Steel wheels) for the M3 and will be performing Krown rustproofing as I do on all my cars. I plan to keep this car for a very LONG time!

I will be very sad to sell my winter car (it has only 70hp,is fun to drive but has no safety features besides seat belts). The M3 is just too much FUN to leave at home.

Besides, the M3 was not cheap and I need the $$$. This purchase was more heart than head. But oh well, you only live once.

As someone who has lived in both USA and Canada, I miss not being able to buy and drive my car the same day! (Two days to prepare a car is ridiculous!!!). And dont get me started on the 15% tax. (I miss California).

Thanks to all, especially Petpad, X Typer Pilot, for making me feel quite welcome. I am open to public gatherings for us proud M3 owners.

Take care, Enjoy your M3 and Happy New Year!!!

Hi Karen, well what do you know, I came back anyway... Of course I'll subscribe.. click... done...

carbonkers... well done, I agree 100% that the sedan looks nice! He He... by the way, we discussed Krown earlier, but have done the dealer's rustproof package too? Is Krown on top a bit of overkill, or are you doing Krown alone?

Wanta... Starlight Green is not available in Canada, so if you ever visit, we'll know it's you. My cousin (a she cousin) drives a Silver TT (Audi) in San Pedro, (believe its Silver), I'll ask her to watch for wanta's starlight MZ3... and my sister--in-law lives in Laguna Beach... but not sure what she drives... will letU-No.

With my Taurus SHO now 14+ years old (156,000 miles) I realized that it was time to start looking for a replacement; it can't last forever. I thought about the qualities that made me like the SHO so much: solid suspension with disc brakes and performance tires, manual transmission, powerful high-reving engine, convenient 4 passenger design, and excellent gas mileage. The RX8 caught my eye, so we made a visit to the Mazda dealer. The RX8 has the performance; in fact, to use its potential, I'd have to break the law here fairly regularly. (I had driven the SHO on the autobahns of Europe for 4 years where 130+mph was legal.) The RX8 carries four passengers but not much extra space. The listed RX8 gas mileage is 4 mpg less than what I had enjoyed with the SHO. While looking at the RX8, I also spotted a new vehicle, the Mazda3; a few of which had just arrived on the lot. The Mazda3 S has all the qualities I loved in my SHO. Agreed, the power isn't the same, but how much horsepower do you need at interstate speeds? And my wife and I prefer smaller cars. We had shopped extensively before buying her Audi A4 last summer, so we were familiar with all the competition. This car is $10,000 cheaper than many of the cars we had been looking at but retains the feel of a quality sports sedan. I have been using information from Edmund's in vehicle purchases for the past twenty years; so it was just a matter of using the internet to find a match of car-dealer-price.
