vikasachh~

Congrats on your new MINI order! When do you take ownership of it? ...and "no" I don't think you made a mistake.

I just got my 2006 MCS about 3 weeks ago and I love it! Since 2007 has had a lot of changes, I'd stay clear for the first 2 or 3 model years until they work the bugs out. From what I've hear, the first new model years of the MINIs (2002 & 2003) have been plagued with problems. I may buy another new MINI, but not for a couple of years (2009?). I've made the mistake (twice in the past 20 years) in buying the first model year of cars. Each one had some issues that were corrected two or three years afterwards. Why take that chance?

Enjoy your new '06 MINI when it comes...

bfromhold,

Congrats on your MCS. I am glad you are having fun with it.

Thank you so much. I feel much better. I thought of the same issues and hence I went for the 2006. I just placed an order yesterday, it will take 4-6 weeks for delivery . I am so impatient. But I keep telling myself - patience is a virtue and it will be totally worth it.

Are there in MC owners in Northwest Florida? If, so can you tell me where the authorized repair/service dealer are? I am purchasing a used MC and wanted to have it checked out by a certified facility.

Hey, im Pringle. I'm only 19 and have owned a Mini for about 4 years now. I had a 2004 Mini Cooper S for a while and traded that in for a 2007 Mini Cooper S. Mini can never let me down, and I will never be without one.

You sound like you have a slight fondness for MINI.

Hows the mini s. Have you had any problems! I'm considering a new 2008 ms.
I drove the new one and loved it, but I'm wondering about the reliability factor!

Oh, I just love mine! Haven't had any serious problems yet; just minor nits, like an unexpected chime from somewhere every now and again, which is weird. Other than the occasional rattle (in cold months) b4 she gets warmed up, I have nooooo complaints! I've been asked that several times by others while at the gas pump, and I tell them all the same thing: U should get one!

Reliability has never been an issue: I start Scoopie up, and she merrily goes wherever I steer her. If u're ever in the DC area, I'll Mini-wave atcha!

I have been contemplating on buying a 2008 Mini Cooper. I have only owned Acura's and Hondas in my life. They have been very good to me. I drive a 2004 Acura TL right now and it has alot of bells and whistles. (Bluetooth, XM Satellite Radio etc.) My husband is afraid that I will not like the mini cooper after one week. It seems to have these options but at extra costs. Which my Acura comes automatically with all the luxeries. I am not a snob and I love this mini cooper. I saw your name Violet and it made me think that it might be meant to be that I saw your name. My real name is Violet. Coincidence? maybe, maybe not. But I love signs like that. What can you tell me.

Hello Violet!

First of all, I'm jealous of your name. LOL j/k; Violet just happens to be my fav color.

Well, lemme tellya ... I was a Honda owner for several years, too! Started out w/the little Civic Hatchback, then got the special edition Honda Accord Coupe, and ended up w/the 4-door Honda. Long story short, I ended up w/the Mini after seeing the Italian Job and was hooked. Spent awhile (about a year) contemplating, researching, etc., and ended up 'building' one on the site in '06 when they offered the Purple Haze color: needless to say, that was it for me! I'm sooo happy I got mine when I did, because they no longer offer the color!

Regarding all the bells and whistles you currently have, yes, it's a little pricey. I don't have all that in mine. I opted for the S model because I like the extra horsepower; mine also came equipped w/the Cold Weather Pkg (heated seats and side view mirrors, etc.), the Harmon Kardon stereo system, and the interior was just what I liked--dark gray anthracite (what I had 'built' on the site). I don't need anything else. Well, maybe a cool mural or something, but that's further down the road.

I think you should test-drive one and decide from there. I live in DC, but work in VA and, let me tell u, having Scoopie makes the commute worthwhile and fun. You could compromise a bit and get a bluetooth headset: it's cheaper and more mobile! I know Mini offers XM (or Sirius, whichever it is) and you could weigh the pros and cons. I hope this helps in your decision and, if you're in the DC Metro area, look me up and we'll compare Minis! Good luck, and please, let me know what u've decided, either way and why, 'k?

Have fun, and I hope u're havin' a lovely Valentine's Day!

Vi
