Replying to: atkellon (Mar 20, 2004 7:21 am) 04 LTD with 34,200 miles V8 AWD Canopy Airbags, 3rd Row, DVD, Moon, Reverse Sensors 3/4 Hitch. White with graphite leather, 17" chrome wheels, step bars, and roof rack. $22,990. They are giving me 4K on a 96 Explorer Ltd V8 AWD with 130K miles, so I'm at $18,990 out the door. Is this a good deal?

Replying to: sphere99 (Jul 06, 2005 11:46 pm) www.fordwarranty.com OR www.fordwarrantys.com I purchase mine a few months ago, and then got rid of it (the Explorer) and got back a $500.00 refund for the unused portion. I got the one through Lombard Ford, which I believe is www.fordwarranty.com |

Hi all. This was my first lease. You guys know alot more about leases than I do, so I would appreciate your feedback. How did I do for my first time? I KNOW I did not get the best deal, but I do not feel like I was ripped off either. What do you think about this? Mountainer Premier Loaded V8 (has everything except the DVD player and navigation)...24 months...$319/month...about a $600 bank fee....$400 sec deposit...plus DMV, etc. My total payment is $400/month (because I rolled some of the fees into the payment)...paid them $2300 down...I have the option to buy at lease end for $23k...10,500 miles per year (which I won't go over--I usually drive 6-8k miles per year). What should I do better next time? |

While I am not an expert on leases, a lease is basically a long term rental contract on a vehicle...anytime you can get a $400 payment with almost nothing down, then walk away after 24 months, I think is a good deal...be sure you have GAP insurance because if you ever total it out, you will pay much for the remainder...but, I think you did well...and, in 2 years, it may be worth much less than $23K, so, who knows???...good luck with your vehicle...

Repost from Lease Questions. is this a good deal? I am looking at $306/mo for 12K miles or $316/mo for 15K miles. 24 mo lease, $2200 down includes first payment if financing with FMCC. MSRP $28870 Selling Price $28870 Down Payment $2200 Net Trade: $1175 Term 24 mos Rebate $2500 College Grad 0 Renewal Cash 0 Bonus Cash $500 Est Net Selling Price $22495 Miles per term 24000 Payment $306 Newspaper ad reads $275 for 10500 miles, 24 month lease, plus tax tag title with $2200 down and FMCC makes first payment. When I did the credit application online with FORD, it gave me those numbers above and I put my current car as a trade (showing some equity) since the lease is up this month with VW. So more miles payment jumps to $306? 15K miles look better to me. Just wondering how to get the net trade to count towards the $2200 down and get payment to $275, then ask for 12K or 15K miles. This is Charlotte County Ford (FL). How does this look?

I am looking for the best possible price on a Ford / Mfr backed ESP (extended warranty). I had thought if you shopped aggressively you could find an extended Mfr warranty for about 40% off of MSRP. I personally can tell you where to get a $2,400 Toyota warranty for about $900; or a $2,500 Subaru warranty for about $1,400. Could it be the difference between foreign and domestic vehicle warranties, since the only other domestic warranty I have shopped for is GMC Chevy and the approximately $3,300 MSRP can be found for roughly $2,800 or about 85% off. Note, all of the above warranties are the highest level of coverage I could find for the Mfr in question and are for 7 year / 100K, $0.00 Ded. I checked the "official" site and a couple of sites that seem to sell genuine Ford ESPs and the best I can find is about 16% off. To be specific here is the breakdown on a "Premium Care" (highest level of coverage) 7 year / 100K, $0.00 Ded. www.esp.ford.com: $3,310.00 www.warrantys.com: $2,920.00 www.fordesps.com: $2,860.00 www.fordwarranties.com: $2,745.00 If anyone is familiar with a dealership that is willing to discount more steeply than that please reply. Thanks, ~Cath
