The S used to be cheaper to insure than my other new cars like the RX-8 (gone) and the M5 (gone, but no duh there) but is now my most expensive. I guess the single same model name out since MY2000 has now found its way into the hands of the unsafe drives and driven up our rates. As my agent said "nothing you or I can do about that" Dennis |

Dennis- my local dealer has a leftover 07 advertised at 6000 off MSRP and they told me they have now made is 7000 off MSRP. so 7000 off MSRP on an 07, but it's brand new. good deal? they also have 08s, but they don't claim to have as much off but I honestly think they would knock those down just as much. is the 07 and 08 the same? any mechanical differences at all? |

With the dealer cash incentive, is it safe to say that I could try to get the purchase price of a new MY08 1,000 lower (that is if I intend on utilizing their 2.9APR)?

I heard back from the dealer that leased me my 08 S2000. There is a $1,000 dealer incentive if you lease OR take the discounted interest rate. If you loan / lease where they get the $1k then their current price is about $30,800 for the car, dest, and doc fee. If you pay cash or do some other loan or lease then the price is $1k higher. Hint: take the cheap loan from AHFC and just pay it off in a couple of months. The lease works out to be $499 + tax for 36 or $463 + tax for 48 (both terms 12k miles per year) with only tax and tag and first month due at signing (with top tier credit). I don't have the MF and residual break down, but I asked for it. Dennis |

Replying to: dwynne (Jul 23, 2008 8:30 am) The selling price would be $30,042.50 (hey, that is less that I paid) if you do AHFC loan financing. If you do the lease or pay cash the price is $1k higher. Sorry for the mistake. Dennis

During the summer when my boss' son is not in college he comes to the office and does it for $20. So mostly, the number of spokes does not bother me much Dennis |
