Hope somebody can help with this. F-250 super duty 1999 diesel 4x4 260,000 miles. Truck dies while driving or idling any length of time and sometimes won't start. Try to start it and the "wait to start engine" light doesn't come on and won't start; wait about 10 minutes and "start engine light" comes on and truck starts. Have gone out to start engine cold and light didn't come on so didn't start. Have had crank shaft position sensor, rear fuel sensor and a glow plug sensor replaced. Just had to have it towed tonight. Ford dealership said they did not know what was wrong after replacing these plus other sensors and close to a thousand dollars later. Do these engines have a separate fuel pump and/or sensor in the tank that could be going bad? I had just gotten fuel tonight when all this started. Has been ok for several days until now. Any help would be appreciated since obviously the guys at the dealership don't have a clue. Thanks, Jennifer |

Hello, I have this 2002 F250 7.3L Power Stroke and can't seem to get anyone to tackle changing out the glow plugs for me. Anyone know how to get to them, if so, I'll have to try and do it myself. Can't even find a decent manual. I have a "hard start" when cold, going dead until engine is good and warm. Everyone seems to think one or more of the glow plugs are bad and sending a false message to the controls and turning off the glow plugs too early. How do I attack this thing myself. Thanks
