Replying to: gerbytop (Jan 14, 2009 2:08 pm) I have had my '04 for 2.5 years now and it seems to run quiet when you are idling or cruising. However, when accelerating it seems to get louder. Its always been that way and we haven't had to bring it in yet. Knock on wood.   This is the first Minnesota winter it has really seen (Texas car) and the engine is much louder in the bitter cold.   The heating system usually works fine, but in this -50F weather it does have trouble warming up the cab.

Replying to: gerbytop (Jan 14, 2009 2:08 pm) Yes, I think the engine is quite loud. It also makes all kinds of different noises when you switch into a gear, especially with reverse gear. As far as the heat goes it takes so much longer to defrost the windows in Endeavor as opposed to Dodge Grand Caravan. I also think I have a problem with floor heat setting. Replying to: Mitty2008 (Dec 29, 2008 1:48 am) Please let me know if you've found a solution. This just started on my 2004 XLS AWD (104,000 miles). I can only open it from the inside release lever. I stop by a mechanic (not the dealer) who looked at fuses, etc. but nothing.

Replying to: kodename (Apr 01, 2006 3:14 pm) Thanks for your response. Thought I'd follow up nearly 3 years on.   You're right, and my ignorance of cars shows. The car does turn over, but it never starts. Now three years later the problem continues. Every 5 months or so the car won't start. If you have ever lost the programming in a key, the same type of thing happens, except the immobilizer 'key' light on the dashboard will flash. In our case, the light never flashes. The dealership has reprogrammed the keys several times. The remotes have been in and out of operation, including the new one we purchased. 3 years on, and we have not found a resolution. When the problem happens, we merely hold the key over until the car starts...often a minute or more.   I'm still in favor of replacing the ECU, but I'd like to have some proof before we do that.   No black smoke emits or any such thing.

Replying to: kimsegg (Sep 27, 2006 8:52 pm) The problem continues three years on. I just posted a lengthy reply to one of the original responses. If I hold the key to start it for over a minute, maybe pump the gas, it will start....eventually. Let me know if you fixed the problem as well.

Replying to: chrisbond09 (Jan 14, 2009 12:08 pm) I too have an 04 endeavor and it is unbelievably fast at heating up and blows strong hot air. I've owned many vehicles (trucks cars 1 minivan and several SUV's) mostly Daimler Chrysler products and none of them even came close to heating the way my endeavor does. I love it!!
